Steeming along without Steemit: How I navigate the Steem blockchain in a more decentralized way
I have been busy trying out new Dapps and services that present the data from the Steem network without needing to use Steemit.com
It all comes down to what im trying to do at that moment:
I use Steemd.com for viewing markdown and more detailed votes for posts, its like a text only version of Steemit. It helps me to copy my blogs from one site to another (Weku, Bearshares and Whaleshares).
When I am on my mobile device I use Partiko, and I really enjoy its features. Like mentions, and showing transfers in a more meaningful way. I also delegate to them so I get bonus points for votes, comments and post writing.
At my desk and using my PC I use SteemPeak.com It seems to me that it runs faster than Steemit.com did and has just about everything I need. Their dashboard will give you some great info like upvote charts, curation rewards and other great data.
I used to drag and drop my images using Steemit.com but that is another resource I feel I can get off of. So I use Supload.com for my images and change the markdown accordingly so my images are still clickable.
So between changing my way I view, and publish posts, comments and how I publish my blogs I hope I can take some strain off of Steemit Inc. Hot linking can be avoided this way as well using an external image hosting service. And since I post to about four or more platforms I think helping in that way is a good idea.

Didn't know about Steemd and being able to see markdowns other people use as I have seen some great posts being formatted well and was always curious how they did it. It would also make blogging easier as you can copy and paste certain sections and just change the information you want to provide. Using @partiko daily now and should have downloaded it sooner. I was just overwhelmed with sooooo many dapps a few weeks' ago that I didn't know which one I should pursue and which ones I shouldn't. Thanks for your video and blog post.

@travelling-two glad I could introduce you to steemd, for people that are interested in the markdown on posts it's a great tool.
Yeah I copy and paste my camera data table and my contact table in just about every post. It sure does make it easy.
Partiko is a great start I'd say, it makes it real easy seeing mentions and sorting of comments and posts.

@jeezzle honestly I have been having upload problems with viuly. Started about a month ago and I stopped using them. I wouldnt be suprised if the service is broken. I suggest you go with bit.tube instead of viuly for video uploading, they are much more reliable I've noticed.

Great post, You highlight some good ones. I need to get Partiko and also Iam using Busy.org to post to y blog . Not sure if that is tied in with Steemit.com servers ??

I just discover #partiko and like you find it great for mobile use, easy to place votes and I like the vote % slider, even though I am not yet powerful enough to really need it, it shows me what % my voting strength is at. Now #steempeak.com, I checked that out but am not sure if it is a different platform and whether the users are #steemit users or not. Maybe you could clarify that for me. Anyway I like your post always good to see how others are doing things😊
@enjoycompany ah nice, I enjoy their vote slider too. It tells you your current vote vp and even curation reward if your upvote is worth enough SP.
Steempeak is like a desktop version of Partiko. Its web based instead of app based, same Steem network it just presents the data better than steemit.com
You would log In using your active key and then it uses your profile on the website.
