Well, everything seems alright in this new forking STEEM reality. So far so good. Only time will tell if those on high have chosen the left road or the right road.

I will be extra special happy to see this annoying blue stripe on Steemit go away:

And I'm extra special curious to see how this 50/50 rewards sharing idea affects engagement and post payout. But again that's a factor of data accumulation. This 21st hard fork is not so much anything that we can immediately tell the effects of.

On @partiko, I see that a lot of folks have 25 rankings again. There are some random flurries of votes coming on to my notifications. But all in all, things seem remarkably calm. At least a lot more calm than it was with that hard fork where everything was down for days! Let's just hope that that's what's up and we can

But if we can't... I guess we can take solace in the fact that we might be able to get some cheap STEEM and that, eventually, these things have a tendency to work themselves out. After all, there is a pretty large community of developers involved with the STEEM blockchain. Those guys love figuring shit like this out!

Of course, I'm a little bit disappointed that the reward pool has been reduced by 10%, but I am excited to see what could possibly come of a STEEM.DAO. If done correctly, that initiative could add a lot of value to the ecosystem. But we'll have to see the DAO allocate resources in such a way that the principal won't be spent down or exchanged for fiat pretty much immediately.

I'm also scared about what's going to happen with the bid bots. That's okay if I can't profit from using them any more, but if a large batch of STEEM users also stop using the bid bots, then the people who run the bid bots will be incentivized to take down their stake and decommission the bot, much as @jerrybanfield has done. If lots of whales like him end up doing that, then that is a whole flood of liquid STEEM that is about to hit the market. That would not be good for the price of STEEM in the short run.

To take their place as sinks for the token are an emerging class of STEEM fintech projects, the most prominent of which (in my book) are @spinvest and @maxuv. The SP invest project just announced its 25,000th token sold, which represents a HODL amount of 30,000 STEEM. For a project that is barely a couple months old, that is very impressive! But even if the younger @maxuv project gets up to 30k STEEM eventually, both of those are still a drop in the bucket compared to what some of these mega bid bots hold.

Well, I'd tell you what @therising is currently holding in its wallet, but I can't load anything on Steemit, claiming SCOT tokens seems like it's not working, I can't pull up info about delegations on @yabapmatt's steembottracker.com...

I guess I spoke too soon. What if this is just the beginning of HF21 hell????
