New Chart: Steem Dollar Price and Steem Dollar Supply --- Calculation of SBD Inflation
Today, I'd like to introduce my new Steem Dollar Chart, which will also be a new feature in my weekly Steem Charts. As you may know, I believe the SBD will return to near $1 in the mid to long term. In the chart below, you can see the Steem Dollar Price in red and the SBD Current Supply in green and how they correlate.
The last price increase of the SBD between week 18 and 24 resulted in a strong rise in supply. The SPD Price then went back to $ 1. I think it will be this time again, but we will see it in the coming weeks and months. But until then, I say: Thank you investors for the higher payouts.
In any case, the current annual inflation rate is already at 523 % and that will have its effect.
Compare SBD to Decred.
SBD supply 4.8m worth 10$
Decred supply 6.5m worth 100$
Even if the supply of SBD doubles, the price should be able to reach 70$ if you take into account that it is just another pump and dump coin now without the peg...
Inflation seems not to matter much.
It's not the supply, it's the growth of supply. And in the case of SBD, 500% new coin creation has to be taken from the market. At the current inflation rate SBD supply doubles every 7 weeks.
Great thanks for sharing your chart. But why do we have to go back to 1$ SBD since this is a free market and more Users are coming to Steemit so there could be more demand to buy rising supply.
Because I think a yearly inflation rate of 500% will have its effect. Certainly, if the demand is so much higher than the supply, then the price will rise. But I doubt that the high inflation rate of the SBD will have no impact on the price in the long run.
