Steem and Steemit are one of the big gainers the past few weeks. I'm changing tactics regarding Steem and SBD
Steem and Steemit is treating us very well these days. A post that receives 1$ in upvotes is actuall worth 0,456$ in SBD and0,344 in Steem power. Which is respectively $6 and 0,86$ PAID out. (I've pulled off 20% curation reward)
I was for sure one of those who views the big spike in SBD as a pump and dump. But since the dump never cam, I no longer see any incentive to hold my Steem and wait for SBD to drop, and then trade my Steem for cheap SBD. Which was my initial plan.
What I'm doing now is securing myself a little bit. I did initially invest in Steemit. And with all my other crypto currencies, when they go 5x or 10x (depending on how much I've put into them) I skim the milk a little bit. I have not done that with Steem yet, until very recently.
So I've decided, since it doesn't seem like neither Steem nor SBD is going down any time soon, to take some profit now that profit is huge.
I am powering down a small profit for myself every week, and I am turning some SBD into Steem and then buying up some coins that I have faith in. I am still using SBD to boost my posts, so I am investing in the ecosystem every day, and I am striving to work my Steem power holdings higher than my current powering down rate.
In other words, I'm not powering down more than I'm powering up (from earning SP from posts) and my goal is to grow my steem power while powering down a little.
If SBD and Steem is still going strong after I've taken a little bit of profit and is more able to relax and be happy with everything that has happened here the past 6 months It'll be much easier to start investing more in Steem power again.
This is a good looking chart
I still believe Steemit and Steem has huge potential. I thought people suggesting $5 and $10 was a little bit hysterical and over the top. But now I don't see why not. Steem has not been growing as rapidly as many others and has fallen from a high of place 18th on Coinmarketcap to rank 35th as of now. Sure, the Mcap of Steem has more than doubbled, but other cryptos has been gaining a lot more.
The developers behind Steem seems to stop at nothing and they keep coming up with cool ideas that has a lot of utility. And as Cryptos gain in popularity, I have no doubt in my mind that the social part of cryptos - blogging, videos, chatting, streaming etc will play a huge role.
We're often talking about how few people own Bitcoin. But if you look at how few people own Steem and are using the Steemit platform, it's really ridiculous what the potential is. I'm going to join those who talk about prices way above $5 in 2018 for Steem and for SBD? Who knows. Seems like it's unstoppable. And why shouldn't it be? With a low circulation supply and low Mcap, there is really no boundaries for SBD.
It is all VERY VERY exciting :)
Steem is way ahead of the game, many just haven't realized it yet. Come on look at so many of the cryptos today - it's all promises of what they will do. Steem and Steemit made a goal of what to accomplish and Steemit has been functioning for quite some time already.
In the same time I don't want to get hysterical and say 100 Steem next year. But 20 wouldn't surprise me
6 billion mcap? Sure. Its possible. I think 2billion is very likely because thst would put steem at 18th place..where its been before. 3.5x this price. $8.75 steem :)
If you look at msm thry talk about Bitcoin 95% of the time and the other 5 is Ethereum. They don't seem to understand that Steemit exists and how good it really is. In a way I am glad Steemit is small and not gigantic like Facebook but if we do want more people here we should rent some giant billboard or something. Just an idea. It could be a voluntary community effort.
If it goes there you won't see me complaining haha slow but steady wins the race !
we didnt see the big move yet my friend
Very possible!
I am sorry for the intervention, but whoever wanted to succeed should sacrifice and patience
The things that come after a great fatigue
True bro. @scandinavianlife
I believe Steem has a long way to go.
What are the other coins you decided to invest in?
Do you think they have more potential than Steem?
I've invested in so many coins, and I'm writing about them regularly when I buy them. Just follow the blog and take a look when I write about a coin that you find interesting. :)
I believe some coins have more potential than Steem, sure. I believe that either Ethereum Iota, EOS or some other platform will become immensely huge. Like do a 100-1000 bagger from current levels. But that doesn't mean Steem has a long way to go when it comes to prices. I see no problem with Steem prices at 10$ in 2018. The most interesting thing though is the SBD-price in 2018. That could really go to Jupiter.
Thank You for that post. I am new to steemit and reading it isonly making my belief stronger!
You're welcome! And Welcome to Steemit! :)
I never understood why people don't have much trust in STEEM! After all, it's probably one of the few (if not the only) that actually has a real product that people can use TODAY! And a product that is slowly but steadily improving. And a product that just by mouth of word can easily be adopted by millions of users. Not to mention other benefits, like super fast and zero-fee transactions, and other cool stuff that are already here like utopion-io or that are soon to come (smart tokens, communities etc)
A price of 5 $ per coin is the bear minimum and from a technical aspect it should definitely be a top-10 coin imo.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, it's definitely a well functioning proven platform that works great, and has proven itself.
Steem to the moon :P
Cool analysis. Steem is really looking good right. but for me in doubt if i will power down for any reason soon.😁😁
That's probably the best decision not to power down right now. I agree. But I'm pretty conservative when it comes to risk management, and I want to make sure that my initial investment is ensured. After that I can be a lot more risk taking. I have all ready almost been able to withdraw half my initial investment in Steem, so I'm happy as can be!
Ok. I understand @scandinavianlife. That is smart.
For me i did not invest any cash in steem because i didn't have.
Really? And your account is worth $1600 now. That's quite a success story. You live in a low cost country right, so 1600$ is alot of money there? Edit: Nigeria is it? Doesn't sound that low cost to me. 500$ is about a months rent for a decent appartment in the capitol? Anyways..you've done well starting from scratch!
Is to many social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other.
But Steem is the Best for this moment. It is better, it allowe you be a you own Lord. And not work for Zuckerberg.
Steemit is not perfekt, but we togetter kan macke it better. I think every body shuld use Steem and not Facebook.
