AskSteemit: A Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) on Steem chain with Sidechain and (future) SMT.
Is a DAO is possible on Steem blockchain?
The idea behind the DAO is that all the tasks of the organization are automated such as governance, decision making, day-to-day activities etc. The stakeholders will gain reward automatically from the DAO if it is a for-profit organization. The code is the law.
However, currently, it is not quite possible but we are almost there. The complex bidbot that votes based on whitelist is a small example of DAO.
A smart curation trail that upvote a post based on its merit judged by the AI, can be another example.
However, a DAO with very few workers can be considered as quasi-DAO.
With fivver like DApp such as @steemgigs, small tasks can be assigned to many mechanical-turk workers on Steem blockchain with profit from DApp that cannot be accomplished by code/bots. Profit can be generated by coin-emission, ICO sells, advertising and innovative methods and distributed automatically to stakeholders.
In fact lots of DApps are already quasi-DAO types with very few interventions from developers. Since most of them are at the early stage, and require heavy developments. Once the Dapps are set, they may require very little maintenance.
In fact an investor cum entrepreneur cum developer with 100K-1M SP can launch a quasi-DAO right now since we have both API and human-gig support already. Upcoming Steem based exchanges, TOKEN generation platforms and sidechains will further expedite the process.
One of my ideas is publish high quality AI generated articles and reviewed by the human editor in DApp. The income from DApp (e.g. Adsense) will be distributed among the stakeholders.

There is no way we can stop many future organizations from being DAOs as the decentralized community is pushing towards these structures. AI is another reason we need more to make so much more possible. I don’t have any ideas but they will ultimately come!
