Help, what's the difference between steem, steem power and steem dollars?

Hello Fellow Steemit people. Can someone explain to me what the difference is between steem, steem dollars and power?

I've read how some people power up. I seen others just keep collecting.

What's the best and why?

Hi @rebeccamorgan - Welcome to steemit! Here's a very light breakdown to help out:

Steem is the main token of the Steem Blockchain.
Steem Power is vested STEEM and gives you voting power. The more you have, the increase in your vote weighting power!
Steem dollars are currency you can spend to buy items in the marketplace and should typically hold 1:1 ratio with the US Dollar.

Steem power also gives interest but has to be powered down over a 104 week payout period if you want to withdraw.
