I've been saying this for a while; although I see the initial importance of having something like a facet system to initially gain a base, it seems to have outlived its usefulness. The upcoming fork will change this in some ways, hopefully for the better, but anytime you cheapen something by giving it away for free, you're bound to see people not treating it with the respect they'd have if they had skin in the game.
