RE: Proof of Brain? 'Proof of Popularity'!

I've been thinling that maybe an even larger curation window would be good. Like 12 hours, or even a day. Having none is basically the same as having one of a few minutes, people and bots hurry to squeeze their vote in asap. Giving a post a few hours to be seen might help those who discover it organically. But I'm not sure :D

What if curation reward only depended on the vote weight? Then there wouldn't be any advantage to upvote early and thus no advantage for bots ...
(One could separate that from the author rewards curve ...)

Don't know, generally it's good to incentivize voting on posts that have potential, or you could just go to new once a day, upvote the last 10 posts, and cash in your rewards.
It's hard to balance, but I think I even prefer votes going to vetted quality creators than totally indifferently to anyone just to get the rewards.

Yes, possible. On the other hand people could decide to upvote quality content if anyway it brings no additional curation reward to be fast or to upvote popular content only ...

I don't say that would be the case ... just thinking ...

Some for sure.
With the amount of maximizers we have here though, I am afraid we would see a large number of votes going out automated at 100% VP to the next best post, as this would be the strategy to earn most and would take the least effort at the same time.
Manual curation would always be less efficient compared to that, as you can't time your VP perfectly without automation. At least there is a slight chance to beat automation right now.
