You are right, there is actually more value in bid bots than I realized. However when bots upvote bad content, it is still a problem and they should be penalized for that. I had some suggestions about changes to Steemit's rules that could help: https://steemit.com/steemit/@petermail/how-to-save-steemit
The solution is to get more good content writers on steemit to drown out the bad ones.
