A Redfish's Thoughts on HF20 (So far anyway..)

After a seemingly long and frustrating Hf20 journey, here we are. Now that the dust has settled, the patches are in place and seem to be working, I thought I would test the waters with my first post since everything went down.
When Hardfork 20 was first implemented I expected there would be bugs and issues at first, and indeed there were to say the least. I wondered along with everyone else if I could ever hope to be as active and able to engage with the steemit community as before HF20.
I'm a small redfish with only 29sp so before the patch went into effect, one upvote and comment on a post, drained me of most my RC. Since I could not do anything on the platform, I spent my time reading other people's posts and comments on what they thought was happening and what could and should be done about it. As one can imagine there were a lot of different opinions on the matter lol..

While a lot of people were freaking out and threatening to leave the platform, others were hopeful that things would work out. I did a bit of reading and lite research. I saw that the steemit powers that be were aware of the many issues and were planning to fix and patch things as soon as possible. I also continued to read posts and comments from the dolphins, whales and small amount of larger minnows that could still do so. I concluded that the best thing I could do is be patient and wait to see how things unfolded over the next few days. Thankfully my patience paid off, and the patch was implemented with seeming success.

Now that the sun has risen on a new steemit in a way, I find myself paying far more attention to my actions on here and their RC costs. So far I have found the costs since the patch relatively fair. One upvote, resteem and comment on a post cost me about 4% of my total RC. With my 29sp being a fairly low amount the cost seems pretty fair. Several upvotes, 5 comments and a few account actions has cost me around 20% of my total RC over an 8 hour period periodically checking in. I also find this relatively fair given my small amount of sp. For the record, I am more grateful now than ever for steemworld.org by @steemchiller for making it extreamly easy to keep track of my actions on steemit and their RC costs.

In conclusion; My steemit journey continues though the path ahead is a bit foggy.. While I understand (on a limited level)that there were a number of important reasons why Hf20 was implemented when it was, such as platform and blockchain scalability, dealing with spam in all its forms and getting SMTs out on time, I can't help but think it was rushed through with out being properly tested first. While bugs and issues should be expected, much of the confusion, lost time as well as lost profit could have been avoided. I feel for those who count on steemit for needed extra income to get by daily and could not do so for several days..
However now that the patch is in place and things seem to be balancing out for everyone, I have somewhat higher hopes that this may all work out for the best for everyone and the platform as a whole in the long run. I look forward to participating again at my normal rate, and seeing hopefully far less spam. I find my RC costs relatively fair concidering my low sp and am fairly hopful they will stay that way in the foreseeable future.
Thank you @davemccoy for being a level headed voice of reason during all of this. I'm glad it was your post I used all my inital RC on lol. I hope the cost info helps! :)
Edit: This post cost a little over 5% of my total RC. I find that a fair price as well.

I can find many of my own thoughts and impressions back in this post.
Also, the part of the costs being now (re)organized. Exactly how I think about it.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for reading and resteeming, it is much appreciated! :) I just hope everything continues to balance out fairly for everyone, while still managing to keep spam down..

I upvoted your post.
