Hi dear Steemers!! As much as I've tried ... and finally ... I do not understand exactly what will happen on July 4 !!! What will happen!! why there are so many posts something "scared" while excited? help me understand !!

    The author and curator awards, which have been held in escrow since Steem started, get distributed to all users on July 4.

    Part of the reason why there was not any distribution of rewards immediately was to accumulate data and see how people used the system. Without having data, the Steem developers could not know if it was reasonable or could be gamed or was 'fair', etc.

    Also, the July 4 mega-payout was probably done from a marketing perspective, but only as an after thought, due to the reasons above.
