Right now there is huge incentive to make fake accounts and introduce yourselves again and again.
People will stop voting for new members if it will be a case.

I would vote for people with meaningful posts to prevent abuse.

P.S. I make one and get upvoted by @ned, what was really crazy! There ware not such easy tipping in cryptohistory yet.

If you have ever seen the TV show Catfish then then you will know that people can create fake identities that people will fall in love with.

In my opinion, anyone willing to go through the effort to catfish the community probably deserves the rewards they get. In some ways these "fake" users help boost the appeal to "real" users to sign up.

I would caution against boosting them if they have already earned more than $10 of votes from the community for their introduction. I would also recommend that people who have quality facebook pages should get more upvotes than someone who has no other corroborating data. In other words, lets reward people who prove their Real Life Identity.
