What Altcoin Will Be More Profitable Than Steem?

in #steem5 years ago (edited)

I own a ton of Steem (almost all of it sits on exchanges), but its value keeps dropping like a brick.

To post on Steemit it really doesn't matter wether you're a whale or a redfish, no point on holding thousands of Steem and even less so in powering them up, you need 3-4 months before you can trade them for something else if you decide to do so.

I've given up on waiting for Steem to regain value and trade it for BTC to break even in the amount of Bitcoins I have invested in it.

I am now looking to trade my Steem for other more solid high quality Altcoins, that have a high probability of outperforming Bitcoin in the next year or so to come.

What would your suggestion be to trade Steem for?

ADA (Cardano), NEO, EOS ... I really don't have a clue.

I am looking for an outperformance of BTC by a factor of at least 4 when the next Altcoin bubble happens.

Looking out for your views and comments.

the value went down to the lowest today after one and a half year well alternative choices for me would be ada, neo, polymath, xlm and what do you think about lunyr long term ?

  • Never heard of lunyr LOL.
  • Stellar is 4K Satoshi, coming from less than 6K Satoshi, not a big move to expect?
  • Neo comes from 0.018btc and is now at 0.0025, so it has 7x potential.
  • ADA comes from 8K Satoshi and now sits on 1.2K, 6-7x potential.
  • Polymath comes from 13K Satoshi and sits now on 4K Satoshi.

Looks like Cardano and Neo have the highest risk reward ratio and they look like solid projects.

Maybe wait for a little uptick in Steem and then dump them all.

What use does owning Steem actually have? If you're a nerd or a malicious whale or you're gifted or goodlooking blogger/vlogger, yeah, then you can make some bucks from this site.

Otherwise its just one of those many asocial media time sinks.

Reiterating a part of my previous reply to you and wording it differently:
A currency's inflation rate compared to BTC should be the eventual slope of its falling channel in terms of BTC.
So a drop of an inflationary currency in BTC terms does not imply that it became a better buying opportunity.
Since many currencies have varying inflation rates (in some sense all currencies have varying inflation rates) it becomes more complicated and less linear, but still possible and not too difficult to account for.

After I resteemed t due to the downvote I regretted doing so, because your question implicitly hints that Steem is a benchmark for profitability.
Had you been an aggressive, and not necessarily malicious dolphin or orca or whatever your amount of Steem is, you would have made more on it, and been able to deter the likes of themarkymark.
I see dolphin sized users that are still being bullied, but they do not play the game the way they should, or otherwise themarkymark would have gradually shrank at least compared to the totality of Steem in existence.
