I'VE MADE LESS THAN A DOLLAR IN TWO WEEKS, I'M NOT HAPPY.

So my new account has been active for about two weeks now and I'm yet to make anything significant. Yes, I'm unhappy. I was promised a lot of things when opening this account and none of them have been--

-- Well, if you've read to this point, I would like to inform you that the first few lines you just read was a bait. I'm sorry. Yeah I know, I'm shady. I just wanted to have some fun with you guys. Some of you must have unearthed your drafts to give me the long _boring_speech about how steemit isn't all about earning, which I do not agree with (my personal opinion), but I know that already. And yes, I've not made anything significant--would have loved to, but since that's not happening yet, I just have the enjoy writing for now. It can't be worse than this, can it?

Yesterday, I was thinking about how I can bypass this rigorous period of drought in terms of earning and engagement. I remember my earlier steem experience, the whole butt licking thingie one had to do to get upvoted. That's one thing I don't want to do this time around. I know some of you might say, "oh, how do you expect people to notice you, if you're not engagement people, blah, blah, blah." Well, that's not the case--sorry to burst your bubbles. I do enjoy commenting on posts I deem interesting, which are scarce. But honestly, if you remove the tech stuff, which most of us are indifferent about or don't understand, there isn't much left to read. So I decided that purchasing steem is the way to go. This way I actively contribute to the growth of my account while making quality content.

Most of the upvotes I've gotten so far are from my comments on other people's posts, however, waiting for people to upvote my comments, for me, is taking the long road. It requires so much time which can be channelled into creating quality posts.

I believe in steem, that's why I came back after my previous setback. And yes, steemit isn't all about earning, but to a significant point, it is to me. But I'm not perturbed by the little rewards I've earned despite my input. I'm here for the long term. I know that's a line that has been flung a lot of times on this platform. The only way I can ensure this is by investing not just my time but funds in purchasing steem, which like I said, I intend doing soon.

So it can only get better, that I believe. And like they say, 'only time will tell,' (it better say something positive in on my behalf

Hey @nonsowrites, you got me with the bait :) ..... I like your positioning as laid out above, reflects mine - I write for myself and share with others, not into networking or interacting for mutual back-scratch, ended up buying a bit of Steem, am in it for the long run...
I read a comment of yours on the 'USD is a scam' post and came to your blog as a result. There's a certain something about your style of writing, perhaps you have been told this before. Something about the freedom and independence of your self-expression - seems like there's a lot of potential, possible quite a bit of 'power' even! It's great anyhow :D
So hello, and good luck!

well...yeah, every writer should have their own voice and I think mine has developed overtime after much practise.

p.s I don't mind the mutual backscratching.
