The Day Almost Lost $68 SBD / +-$350 USD

in #steem6 years ago

Yesterday wasn't like any other day.

Many of us wake up with a big smile only enter our favorite web site, the SBD was being paid at USD$5.00 and still keeps raising.

For many it represents the payoff for our months of effort we been putting on the site, the prefect moment to invest/diversify/cash out what we been growing.

In my case I've decided to invest on SP to achieve a more mining full presence on Steemit, but sadly my Bittrex was —without an explanation— disabled.

I've decided to use @blocktrades, a service —that for what I've read— had support and adopt the Steemit community in a big way.

Convinced that it was a perfect day —and after reading according to my self— I opened an account on Blocktrades and started to send my entire SBD trough it.

$68.250 SBD = +/-$350 USD

Only receiving the notification of the successes of the transaction I felt something was wrong.

I send them my SBD, but without receive my SP!

I had committed a huge mistake... And the worst part was that I had no idea what has happened.

I start to feel sick, didn't know if I should be mad or sad for my stupidity, started to search like a crazy around the web for an answer or some guide to at least know what I've done wrong.

I misunderstood the way @blocktrades really works, and without a doubt, it was all my mistake. For some time it crossed my mind to let dose $68 SBD as a lost.

You have to take against the adversity.

After some minutes and a little bit more calm I decided to contact the @bloctrades support.

The chance to solve something was minimum, but at least should I try.

I sended them an email explaining the whole situation, some pictures that support what I've done and think —that if I was lucky enough for receive an answer— some days or weeks should past and without some warranty.

What was my surprise when, only after two hours I received an email. They said that the SBD was already returned to my Steemit wallet.

I had recovered entirely my SBD!

I'm sure I'm not the only one that committed a mistake while sending or changing your crypto, and for what I've read, is almost impossible or really difficult to recover them once you mistaken.

And even some exchanges markets are well known for not give the best support or make it easy to solve a problem.

I'm not so sure if my case was an exception to the rule, but I'm pretty satisfied for the good experience I had with the people of @blocktrades.

Really, I have not enough words to thanks to Dan N. —I owe you a beer man— and the people from @blocktrades for your help and excellent support service.

And what I've learned?

Besides recovery my SBD —and as a consequence increase my SP— I like to share with you some advices I've learned from all these experience.

  • Learn about the thing: Before open an account or start to use a new service, like an exchange house, LEARN AND READ ABOUT HOW IT WORKS AND HOW TO USE IT.

How to Use The New Blocktrades Interface to Exchange Steem For Bitcoins

  • Do some proofs: Once you've decided that you are going to use something, do some proofs. If you send your cryptos between your different wallets or make some exchange, DO LITTLE MOVEMENTS TO REALLY CORROBORATE YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THE SERVICE, on the case something goes wrong, the loses won't be huge.

  • Ask for help with the providers: If for some reason you have a problem, ASK FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT. Sure, maybe some of the providers don't have a good reputation for their technical support or for resolving some issues on the best way possible, but maybe you could have some lucky and resolve your problem quickly. If not you can always do some review and let the people know. For sure they'll look and see their error and eventually change their way of attend people.

Hope my experience could help you some way, really, after the bad moment and then having so positive experience with @blocktrades I can't do less than thank them.

Had you ever pass for something similar? Let me know and start to talk.

Greetings and till the next time.
