Why do it though? It must be some terrible mistake.
if you do it right it is a simple traders strategy. buy large amounts in a short period of time for cheap, this will drive prices up if the market is small or easy to corrupt and then dump everthing and take the profit =)
Yeah I've seen them do that. I guess they just bought the resistance and set up small sell and buy walls on the way up and probably some traders bought in without knowing. But to do that with steem dollars though, ignorance :) That manipulating whale thief probably made some profit in the process and some people lost money.
