Why I Think a STEEM/Bitcoin Eco-System Is A Must For STEEM To Survive.

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

Can the two co-exist? Must they? I think so. With the threat of rival social networks with Bitcoin tipping services coming soon, STEEM will require to remain nimble in the months ahead.

And further down the line is a Bitcoin tipping service for uploading too - coming from https://mega.nz/ in early 2017.

I can't see why Bitcoin and STEEM can't co-exist by integrating a Bitcoin wallet within Steemit. I don't think the faithful have anything to fear. I'd certainly hold onto my STEEM/SBD and SP! (and I know many faithful STEEMERS who would too - so there would always be a market for that.)

I think that this is an idea that requires serious consideration very soon. I don't want to swallow the red pill and live in a cocoon like The Matrix. I hope there is a Morpheus to wake me up!

Thanks to @darknet for inspiring me to write this.

All the best to all STEEMERS - minnows or whales.

Thanks for reading.

@mindhunter

p.s. I'd even like to see an ETH integrated wallet too...but lets wait and see where Ethereum goes after its hard fork debacle earlier in the year!?

Perhaps post should be paid in btc instead of sbd Or you could have a choice. seems like a btc wallet is a no brainier.

Agreed @dennygalindo If I had a BTC wallet I'd send you a 0.000000001 BTC micro-payment for that comment! LOL!

Yes @mindhunter steem and bitcoin can co-exist.
Just think about this points:
Bitcoin is the first crypto coin made "allegedly" by Satoshi Nakamoto.
Since that time bitcoin has grown :

  • From the miners point of view ...well it is just more hard to mine bitcoin. Like really now it is just a waste of time to try mining bitcoin on a pentium pc build....when other people are using ASIC mining or other monsters like Avalon or S7
But ...and a big "BUT" bitcoin is aproaching the end of his cicle. The years pass and it will be the same sum of btc in the end .
Reward for mining will be less (remember the halving that happened this year)
A lot of miners just canot keep up with these new changes.
Some of them (miners) are trying to build more better mining tools and "rigs".
But those are just a small part of the mining community.
And average miner is just scratching the surface and trying to keep himself afloat.
And now enters Steem and Steemit site:
  • a new coin, a new hope
-all new coins present new ideeas and hope
-BUT Steem has gone where no other coin has gone before
-we have a platform filled with real people that are using steem
and the more steem is used and wanted the more the value of this coin will grow more and more.
Day by day we see more and more people coming to Steemit site and start blogging or vlogging . They are good writers and good content earners.
These people will bost the Steem value because Steem is touching the people.
Bitcoin has to find more better ways to keep itself afloat and in that time in that momment Steem will be just alongside bitcoin riding until the end, because Steem will grow no matter what!

As long as STEEM touches people and has low difficulty for the miners, then we'll be just fine. Loving all your valid points by the way - your certainly a comments worker bee alright!

(STEEM is linked to the human urge to create unlike Bitcoin - this is its ace in the hole!)

p.s. Avalon S7's are not really built for home users - more for data centres. The electricity bill would be astronomical!

Great wordage around what we are all thinking @mindhunter

Thanks. I don't want to be the Morpheus - maybe just The Oracle ;)

(I wonder which @??? Neo is?)

I don't want to swallow the red pill either - "WAKE UP NEO!! Save us!!"

"Every man has his secret sorrows which the world knows not." --Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Yes to BTC wallet ; No to ETH wallet - hate it!

I think Ethereum may prove just too polar for Steemit - let's just stick to BTC for now!
