People turn to their own name more readily than that of another.

That has nothing to do with interest in themselves. That's a response to an external stimuli.

People fight and argue for the things important to them, even when they are wrong.

Only fools fight for the things not important to themselves. That has nothing to do with 'themselves' being the most interesting topic.
One of the biggest issues for the narcissist, is admitting they are wrong. The more extreme the narcissism, the more impossible it becomes.
