was just musing in a comment in response to a comment from @bitcoiner about how I am now mirroring the steem blockchain file on a webserver so it can be quickly downloaded to get a node running, and started to think about how I was going to take and track payments.

It turns out that @blocktrades service has an API for integrating payments into other services. You can even play with it right here on the site, this will show you all the pairs that convert to steem if you search the page for the string you can see I searched for in the screenshot above.

Really really cool @blocktrades! You can get steem but take 12 other currencies as payment!

That list will also show you the margin rate on each transaction type. It also allows you to track each transaction individually, with unique addresses for bitcoin-type wallet addresses or bitshares/steem type that have payment memos.
