Begging the numbers

in #steem7 years ago

Instead of adding value.

Now here on Steemit, everyone starts the same.... at the bottom... those that have worked the most were early and consistent in posting, worked to help others grow here... well they rose in the income, standings and support. Those who bought in with substantial funds workhard elsewhere first and then shifted that work reward to their accounts and grew.

So no one here has gotten a free ride and has not begged for it as some seem to be doing of late.

Look at those folks in the 70's (reputation), they have gotten there with good consistent information, assistance, clarifications, intellect or talent... they did not ask for upvotes to build themselves, they just kept adding more and more value to the platform.

So do not think it unfair, do not think you deserve without first adding value or at least trying to.

Work your but off as others before have... do not just comment "nice post, please upvote and follow me". Instead give us all a reason to follow your blog, applaud your efforts with upvotes and prove your value to others as they follow you.

Remember you (we) are all still in the pioneer phase of this journey.

That's a very intricate way of describing what has happened and what's going on. I did sell out some of my Steem Power, unfortunately, but luckily not all of it.

Yes, we sure are the pioneers of Steemit still, even if it seems "too late". Why would it be? I imagine STEEM will be somewhere around $5 before 2018. $10 mid 2018.

Motivating post.

Everyone is entitled to take the spoils of their efforts, I have powered down around $3000 and reinvested inETH, Bitcoin and PAY... there is no shame or greed in this.

In fact if Steem breaks $3.00, much of that will be re-invested back into Steem.

Nice summary, I totally agree. Other recent posts suggesting STEEMit should move to one person one vote are naive and dangerous.

Earn your weight, one way or another, and you too can become a whale.

STEEM On !!

Dave

Yes earning ones way is a crucial part of Steemit that sets it apart... thanks for the comment!

It looks like a beggars invasion lately...
I hope in time the majority will learn some things and start to behave properly.

I get it, they are new, they want to be higher in level and income, but there is better way to solicit funds and followers... Just Add Value.

What people need to start understanding is nothing is given, everything is earned.

This is the rule here, I applaud those with thousands of posts and comments, sharing and in turn applauding others... what a welcome relief from the mind dead wastelands of facebook and other social media.

Well said, begging is a common sight here and it does not give good optics. I've only been here for 2.5 weeks and just realize how much work it is bloggin and trying to add good content everyday! -cheers

Whoa yeah, it is a lot of work... and the socialization adds to that, keep plugging, I think it is worth it.

After seeing the Steem USD chart, steemians who stuck around from end of July 2016 until the recent run from May 2017 (that huge drop from $4 USD to 12 cents!!) are the ones who believe 100% on this platform. With that in mind I have a better appreciation to those who have put in the hard work and stuck to it through the good, the bad and the ugly.

It was a long slow journey.

Human nature is to want things the easy way. Hence, the ones who work their butts off are those at the top. We always see the pretty sight of those at the top, but tend to ignore the hardwork those people put in to get where they are.

I realize that many come with great expectation and hope.... but they go amiss with the re-steems and requests. Just looking at the comments above seems to me, I struck a nerve.

Support Your words. People have earned this reputation through their participation in the community, their posts, daily writing quality posts. Asking for help is the easy part. But isn't it better to work for yourself and start to earn their reputation and their remuneration for quality work?

Why yes it is... it is a journey, education and philanthropy all rolled into a Steem-Ball.

Nice post, please upvote and follow me.

Oops, I mean... well I do mean nice post, because it's completely true. It's very annoying to see those kind of replies and get the private messages, begging for upvotes. Follow for follow and such. I ignore it most of the time, but sometimes I try to tell them to change their ways. Not sure if it ever works though...

Hey now I just did upvote you and follow you as you have added value for me. I have been answering these great posts in reply, awarding those that added value as they saw they received value... hey like you, thanks!

Well didn't we make a great example!

I was already following you though... how do you wanna do this? Should I unfollow and refollow for effect, or do you think we're good? :D

You are a free woman... play it as you need to. And yes you have supported many a post and thanks.

I think we're good! It is not a problem, I like supporting good posts :-)

Amazing

Welcome to Steemit, please add worth in all you do, at least try.

How can you have any pudding, if you don't eat your meat?
