The Old Dog Warns: Steem Continues on Its March to World Domination!
Steem, the Trojan Horse of Crypto Currencies, continues on its stealthy way to mass adoption!
When people join Steemit.com and start to mine crypto currencies with their minds they may have little or no notion that they are continuing the spread of a new border-less and fee-less money!
Just 20 months in and there are now more than 350,000 registered accounts and it is growing every day. What do you think will happen after Steem Fest 2 and when Smart Media Tokens start to explode?
Take a Look at The Following Stats!
This info from hypestat.com shows that Steemit.com has 175,00 unique visitors a day, 5.2 million per month and it is inching towards being in the top 2,000 of the most frequently visited websites in the World! That's astounding!
This portion of the info from hypestat.com is significant because it shows that while the United States receives by far the most traffic 73% of the users are from outside that country and that percentage is going up! This is also good news for communities using languages other than English! A different language, still mining with minds but the SAME currency! That's powerful!
Some Other Countries in The Spotlight
- Korea with 8.6% of page views and an extrapolated 15,050 unique visitors per day!
- Germany with 4.7% of the users has a robust German language community!
- Italy with 2.4% of the page views is steadily increasing in the number of Italian language posts!
- Spain has 5.2% of page views and as the Spanish language blossoms just watch what happens!
An examination of the chart reveals that almost all of the top 30 countries list Steemit.com as ranked between 619 and 3,00o of the most visited sites in their nation!
You Are Still an Early Adopter And a Pioneer in The Use of The Steem Economy!

These growth metrics are very nice to see. One thing I didn't realize when I first learned about Steem and created an account was the potential for many apps to be built alongside or onto the platform (DTube for example). Seeing these new features develop has enhanced my view of Steem.
I'm excited to be here in the early days and it brings to mind when I began using Mozilla Firefox at version 0.9. At that time Internet Explorer was still dominant (and terrible). It's gratifying to look back at that since Firefox has become a popular browser. I would imagine many of us will be able to look back in several years with good feelings about being involved in the early days of Steem and it's related projects.
One concern I have for the future is the diversity of languages shown when browsing. The fact that Steem is growing worldwide is fantastic but the user experience seems diminished when scrolling through Trending items shows various headlines in non-native languages. When viewing the Trending, New and Hot feeds wouldn't it be better for English readers to see only English posts, Korean readers to see only Korean posts and so on (unless specifically choosing to do otherwise)? Am I missing something?
Your concern regarding languages is valid and I believe that it will be resolved once Communities are rolled out with the next hard fork.

I think it's stunning trends. A little more time and Steemit will be number 1 in the world in attendance. I believe in it. I think in the beginning of 2018, when it launched a new mechanism and the Internet will become the monetization of millions of people will want to join Steemit.

Steemit seems to be on its way to become the leading social media tool, slowly replacing the dominant FB... very excited to be part of the pioneers. Our goal would be to facilitate transactions with no intermediary fees between buyers and our partner artisans, especially in developing countries where there are currency issues. Steemit has an incredible potential and we are looking forward to seeing it grow and develop.

About the statistics; the very good part from it shows that there is so much potential for growth. And we should spread the information and explain others why they should use STEEM.
In that case we will sure see numbers getting up, soon and probably faster then expected.
In my opinion we should be happy that we are able to build this together, we are the shareholders :-) ; some bigger and some smallers, but when people put time and effort in,.... WOW YES IT WILL BE A GOOD POWERFUL CURRENCY

Great report. Im definitely encouraged by it. I think its only a matter of a short time before the accounts start numbering in the millions. More and more people will start learning about crypto and Steemit is the best and easiest way for people to get into the game by doing what they already are doing anyways in social media.
