I'm not a fan of advertising, but I do think this is a good idea. People can choose to advertise what they want, rather than random google adwords or other ad BS. And the advertiser needs to have a certain amount of SP in order to reward the people who post their ads with their content. But, that would restrict their SP voting weight to limits, like 20 now per day. At 5 votes, the advertiser voting weight would be greatly diminished to reward the content that is advertising. Peace. Well these are atm just some thoughts... If I understand it is not yet sure how the weight would be diminished. The Hardfork has not been done yet.
You could still invest some more in SP and vote with 5% Power. Not sure how much money has to be invested for this. Even then the invested money is not "gone" and has a chance of developping (price AND interest).
The side effect still would be that products are placed in such good google positions that any investment would be worth it. If I imagine how much money is invested in google ranking SEO ... 0.01% of this budget would make Steemit self-sustainable
