Actions Speak Louder Than Words. GO VOTE FOR THE FORMER TOP30!

in #steem4 years ago

Over the past weeks we have seen a lot of actions and a even more lack of action that speak much louder than words.

All in all, we have seen how DPoS is vulnerable to outright centralization, no matter if it be via collusion or simply one entity accumulating a large enough amount of tokens to overtake the governance.

Not to go over everything again and literally sum it up, we have seen that there are generally three groups of people out there:

i) Those that would stand up for the technology and protect it, no matter what the financial costs may be, for the good of the future.

ii) Those that are constantly weighing up the cost/benefits, or in this case, wanting the money and the power while portraying themselves as being people from the before mentioned group "i".

&

iii) Those that only care about the tokens/money, who couldn't care less about anything else and love the opportunities for the wham, bam thank you mam, types of pump and dump scams. Yes, "it is all about the money". Who cares about the world and people, all they want is a quick buck!

Now, although many may think that they belong to one of the three groups and that this post is about "you", well, it is. It is about all of us.

We keep talking the talk, but when it comes to walking the walk, then many seem to stagger, fall or plain and simple, sit down and not give a toot!

Have a look at the witness votes.

I mean, seriously, "it's all about the community", how many times have we heard that before!

Yet, even something as simple as changing ones witness votes to vote in the top20 + 10 others who were/are close enough to maybe get into the top 20, from all the former top50 witnesses, all we see is a lot of witness votes still lingering around for witnesses who are in no way, manner or form able to get into the top20.

Even with all the yelling and screaming and begging for people to go and unvote us who were under position 30 prior to the abuse of loopholes in DPoS, there are way toooo many people not doing that.

Now, some may think idk what all not, but really, think about it.

Do you lose anything by voting in the former top 30?

What have you got to lose?

Seriously.

5 to maybe 10 minutes of your time can make a real difference.

Even if nothing changes, your vote will put more pressure on those needing more STEEM to stake and vote for their fake one man totalitarian show of "ego" and a piss poor shot in the foot of an attempt to save face in his business circles.

Think about it.

Walk the walk.

Make it happen.

Let's show the world that none of us are up for sale, that we are willing and able to stand up to totalitarians, no matter what the end outcome may be.

As for the tech, don't stress, it is safe. As for the data, some of it is unfortunately still in the hands of one privately owned entity.

Lessons learned the hard way.

Mr. Sun can have the whole shooting match before you will find me voting for @therealwolf (the vote bot merchant) or @lukestokes.mhth (the faux Libertarian and EOS supporter). My guess is that it is similar for other Steemians for other reasons. For you to to try to shame voters for their choices is lower than installing HF22.2 in my opinion.

Your logic reminds me of that used by the Hillary camp in the last US election. This issues is not about the best of two evils. There is only the option of to fork or not to fork in my opinion. Vote where your heart leads you and let the cards fall where they may.

Your emotions are talking, right now, imo personal feelings and emotions are not priority #1, but unity as a community of individuals against the "power of money".

Although, I do fully agree with your right to express yourself any way you feel is necessary in these times of utter discord within the situation we all face.

Hard Forks are the natural evolution of blockchain technologies. Just because this community has misused the term hard fork over the last 4 years does not mean that one is not overdue for this chain to right the wrongs of things like the Ninja Mined stake of STINC. Yeah there have been forks previously yet nothing like the next one will be in terms of movement of the community.

My sugggestion is that it is you who is voting with emotions welling from so much that has been invested in blood, sweat and tears on this chain. Mr. Sun may be dealt with in time as the STEEM from the exchanges falls back to the true owners. Every week that goes by is more STEEM to vote out Mr. Sun's sock puppets.

Yet if Mr. Sun wins the day it may be better to let those witnesses that you truly trust know that you will be with them if it comes to a fork.

Just looks at the issue of witness vote retention over the last 4 years to see that the consensus of top 20 witnesses and their whale supporters have not had the concerns of the little guys in mind. Or how about the 30x witness voting algorithm? Then turning one's attention to the STINC's Ninja Mined stake we see that very few of that past elite had the balls to call STINC out on that. @freedom's support seemed more important to most of them.

For me Mr. Sun is a new boss the same as the old boss. At least with a fork we need not be fooled again.

@null|Mr. Sun

The Steem blockchain is definitely centralized either way.

Yet, at the end of the day, we the people need not give up against totalitarian rule.

Yes, definitely a lot of emotions.
