What do you think about the USD as a whole? the if the US loses confidence across the globe, then there may be no safe place for your wealth. stocks are over valued, bonds values will drop and IR increase, and the USD is weakening.

I don't think people realize how bad things can get because they've been good for so long. This is going to be much worse than a recession, unless we start a new war we're going to have a depression. If you can buy gold that may help, silver may be even better. Having some skills to barter with will certainly be of value. I don't see any hiding from this though unless you live in a forest.
