Should We Walk Away from the Term "Proof of Brain"?

"Proof of Brain" .. Really?

If we're all being honest, the term Proof of Brain is a true egg-on-face term for us into the Steem blockchain. Sure, it sounded good at the time, and yeah, most of us agree it would be great were it to be true, but we all know it is not.

I love the Steem platform and I can see a bright future with it. Especially when it ads convenient minting of non-fungible tokens, which in my opinion is much more valuable and important than SMTs, and a very natural progression for the Steem blockchain. But a lot of the reasons people are seeing value in Steem is not what it originally was meant to be.

The original idea was much more like Medium, only with a tip culture rather than a subscription model. However, we're seeing it kind of going away from this ideal, and whether one likes it or not, bots are becoming an accepted reality of Steem-based environments.

So, should we discard this term? Because we're seeing a much more Proof of Bot ecosystem than a Proof of Brain one.... No insult to Steem or anyone's ideology intended, just pointing out the whale in the room...
