11 things no one will tell you about using the steemit platform !

in #steem4 years ago (edited)

No doubt, steemit is an amazing platform for the talented people, but there are always two sides of a coin. Steemit can do wonders for those who know how to use it and can also turn out into a complete waste of time and unnecessary struggle for those who don't use their brain while using steemit.

There are some things which you need to keep in mind when you are a STEEMIAN, which will not only help you survive on this platform, but will also help you take home some good dollars. So without wasting any more time, let us begin !!

(P.S - Please read the description of each point carefully before leaving your comments, instead of getting a conclusion just by the headings.)

1. Getting more followers is useless :-

People use steemfollower.com, they follow random people to get follow backs, they ask other to follow them but it is completely useless even if your followers increase. SHOCKED? Well because, on steemit, you don't need to build followers, but you need to build fans !!! Followers are the people who followed you when they liked a post of yours. They will follow and forget. You need those people who are crazy to read your posts, waiting for you to publish the next post, remembering to check your profile every now and then, who will resteem your posts, who want YOUR success, as much as you do. Now that sounds AMAZING. Isn't it?

giphy (1).gif

2. Steemit is NOT a Community !

Now this one is really important. People say and believe it too that you need to build a network to grow on steemit. They say that you should talk to as many people as possible, and be friendly with everyone. They say that you need to communicate with people on discord, comment below their posts, vote others to build a relationship so that others vote back as well. But I have experienced that it is a complete noob strategy !! Yes it is possible to receive votes from 10 people after talking to a hundred. That is possible but instead of speaking to those 100 people, it would be much better if you put your time in providing people with what they want to READ !!! Are you getting it? Are you ?? I just told you the biggest secret !
A popular person can't speak to every fan of his and if you think you can become popular by talking to everybody then get ready because new steemians are joining every day. I wonder how will you talk to everyone.

3. The good and bad of VOTE BEGGING :-

So people here would ask you to vote for vote, follow for follow and such other stuff. The good thing about it is that you can win contests which require you to collect votes. The bad thing about it is that you can increase the number of votes through this method, but CAN NOT increase the amount of dollars. Only minnows will support you by this method who don't have much Steem power and thus, they can't help you earn. Remember, if you deserve something, begging won't help you get it, because beggars only get beggary, not huge dollars. No one ever got rich from begging.

4. What you see is not what is true :-

When we join steemit, we get surprised that there are so many nice people here. Complete strangers commenting on your post makes you feel that this platform will truly acknowledge your talent and efforts BUT !!! The reality is that people here comment not because they like your post, but instead they want you to go to their page and like their posts !! Yes that's how things work here. Everyone is so nice here because they want to get more support and pretend to be REALLY NICE. So if you too want to survive here through - GIVE AND TAKE METHOD, you also got to PRETEND to be nice, but inside you should know, what you see in everyone here, is not what is true.

5. Truths about promotional channels :-

Until and unless you aren't promoting your post every half an hour for the next 6 days, don't promote it at all. IMPOSSIBLE, isn't it? Well that's the bitter truth !!! There is 1% probability that a whale will upvote your post if you are promoting it just twice or thrice. I am trying to be positive here, else the probability can go even below 1%. :P

6. Misconceptions of a Qualitative post :-

You must have been told a hundred times to write QUALITY post, but noone told you what it actually is? Quality can have many definitions, but the real definition SPECIALLY FOR STEEMIT is - length. Until and unless you are a whale, no one is going to vote for your 4 paragraph or 4 line post. It should be as lengthy as possible. People won't read it anyway :p. So just write as much as possible and you will be rewarded with huge upvotes, just because people will scroll down and realize that you have put in some effort right there and you deserve it.

Now some people might think I am wrong here. There are some people who believe the opposite is true. For an example, @trafalgar made another account just to post small posts by the name of @traf. It kinda seems like a twitter trend on steemit when we see the posts there. May be @trafalgar change the whole way steemit works by his new strategy of posting short posts. Here is his post in which he informs whether short length of a post holds more worth then a lengthy post. I believe this might be a different experience by every person now as in my case I have always been rewarded more on a lengthy post instead of a short one.

7. This is not youtube !!

It is a writing platform, we all know this. Putting videos here won't do much good, unless it is d-tube's video. Youtube videos won't grow your traffic here. Unlike facebook, videos don't get played here on their own until you open a post and click on the play button !! So if not through youtube videos, then how does things work here?
Here is the ultimate secret - By your TITLE. The title of your post is the most important thing of your article. It is important than your content, your write up's length, your post's quality, the amount of pictures you put in your post, gif's and any other possible thing. TITLE ONLY IS THE ONE AND ONLY PART OF YOUR POST that can either take your post to the highest level, or drop it down to vanish away in the river of posts.

8. You won't get noticed even if you post daily for next 12 months :-

The biggest lie on steemit is that you will get noticed by a whale some day, so just keep on posting. There are 25,000 active minnows right now and there are about 40 whales in total and all of these are NOT waiting to find an amazing post of a minnow to upvote. Only a few of them are truly dedicated to help minnows grow. So drop this hope that someday, some one will see you. Even if they do, they will upvote you just once. What after that?
So if regular posting is not the way, then what is? Well, the way is to constantly keep amending your ways to get noticed. Posting regularly with no dollars, no views, no votes won't take you anywhere. You will have to try something different time to time. Just posting regularly is waiting for the opportunities to see you, whereas, in reality you will have to go out and create opportunities for yourself. So don't wait to get noticed, use your brains and try experimenting new techniques. Trust me, there CAN BE a million ways. All you need to do is think outside the box.

9. No one is actually interested in reading your content :-

Until and unless they want you to read their's, they won't read yours. No matter how good you write, how awesome your writing skills are, how amazing your message is, how much eye opening content you disclose, no one will actually read it. There are some exceptions, of course, they might be learning to write or interested in your field but they are rare. So what to do?
Bind them !! What matters more then a qualitative post is a post that can generate curiosity. That can tie people to read it until the end, that can pull them to at least go and visit your post.

10. Does Spamming work :-

Some people message their links to random unknown people, some even comment their links below other's post. I wonder from where do they get the idea that it can bring traffic to your profile? Spam won't give you anything except a damaged reputation. I am not talking about the number of your reputation but about your image in front of other steemians. So Spamming is the worst idea ever.

11. This is not how you can increase your steempower :/

Voting on whale's post won't give you much SP (curation rewards), neither will vote for vote give it to you. Voting on the trending posts will also not help you get much SP(curation rewards) as a return. How does steempower shares actually work is altogether a different topic. The simple and foremost way to get more curation rewards is - by upvoting posts in the "NEW" section, which are atleast 30 minutes old, ARE REALLY LENGTHY, fall in the most popular tags, are of newbies with low reputation and WHICH HAVE A POSSIBILTY TO GET MANY HEAVY VOTES FROM WHALES OR @CURIE, after you have already upvoted the post.

So, I am pretty sure you weren't aware about all the above secrets of steemit !! Comment below if you already knew any point, or if you know something else except these points which you think is hidden on the steemit platform.

All pictures were taken from Pixabay or pexels.com.

SHARE it with your friends and followers too if you think they too have a totally wrong idea about steemit or if they had told you something opposite of what I told you above.

What a nice useful post. And ..believe me....I read it all 😃
I like it , hence - resteeming

By the way, did you notice - your today's post was resteemed 28 times in the first 7 hours. Not bad, not bad...

Oh that's an honor that someone read my complete post !! Hehe.
I am glad you found it useful.
Thank you so much for upvoting and resteeming it. Followed you :)

I read it too

It got resteemed about 50 times when I saw last. I am jumping since then. Can't express this joy. Thank you. :D :D

@Tpot has arrived to the party. Thanks to @himshweta for being a community member.

Damn it!! I look so good xD

Please keep visiting our discord server.

There are actually 40 whales, 222 orcas and 1231 dolphins as of last statistics

And to get their vote, you have to compete with the rest of steemit, because there are so many good posts to vote for and we are limited in SP per day.

However, nice post!

Me when joining Steemit

Steemit: Welcome to Steemit! Let me show you where you sit on the food chain!
[Pulls out chart]
Steemit: On top there's whales, then there's orcas, there's the regular fish...
Me: And that's me!
Steemit: No. No. Then there's plankton, then there's single-celled amoebas...
Me: And then me!
Steemit: Nope! Nope! I'm getting there, I'm getting there... Then there's coral, there's rocks, there's whale poo... and then there's you.
Me: That's messed up!

Lolx @locks. I hope this is original coz i want to borrow it. Will give you full credits.

Shark Tale (2004) 😉

Hahahahaha. Hilarious and sad at the same time :p

probably the most hilarious thing i have ever read on steemit.

Most of us are Minnows and much smaller creatures.

The game changes the exact moment, when your vote becomes a valuable asset and you start to actually think on how to use it, to get the most out of it.

Very True .... at about 100 Steem Power when your vote is worth 1 penny. https://steemit.com/steemit/@offgridlife/the-importance-of-your-steem-voting-power

I agree with you.

i think I'm a krill.

Thanks for the valuable information. It is more sad to see the whales are far less than I mentioned. I took an approximation of orcas and whales altogether. I edited it.

You can imagine how upset I was when I first found out about that. And even more, when I found out that almost all the SP is given to them. I thought that it is unfair. As a red fish I wanted justice! 😂

Yes I feel the same sometimes.

40 whales, 222 orcas and 1231 dolphins

and... there's me at the bottom playing with the minnows and planktons 😄

It's not to be worried about, we win only if are still in the game.............and we are all still playing ;)

thanks for the link!! i find it quite informative!!!

This post is a must read for minnows! Thanks for sharing your wisdom :D

I am glad you liked it. :)

Brilliant Post! Kudos! for listing all of these Points/Facts!!!
Read it all!!! Word by Word !!! Trust me!!! I really know what you mean to say, here !!!
Observed it all in Reality!!!
Experienced it all to the hardest !!!
Experimented with various ways & methods !!!
Still Learning!!!

I am happy that you liked it and found it useful. Thank you so much for your vote and comment :)

This is an excellent quality post sweetie. In my opinion you have stated the hard facts which will lead to success on the Steemit platform. I have also learnt some of them the hard way in my 4 months journey on steemit and can relate to what u are stating. Upvoted, resteemed and following u as always.
Regards Nainaz

Thank you so much for your continuous support nainaz :)

@himshweta you have explained do's and don't very intelligently. The most funny flaw is about followers. I have witnessed people commenting like.... I have followed u , now u follow me back. What's the point? Its even irritating. Very smartly u have answered all the points which could be asked by a newbie... :)

@himshweta This was one of the best postings to help people especially NOOBs that I have seen in my over a Year on STEEMIT. BRAVO and major KUDOs for even showing me some things that I did not know yet on how to be more successful on STEEMIT..........

That is a very qualitative comment to receive. I am glad to be of some help. Thank you for commenting. I and all your friends would be even more grateful if you share this post with them as well. Thanks again :)

One other point, what worked for you in the past may not work for you in the present. Popularity can wane.....constantly renew yourself, explore knew possibilities, learn new things and methods. I post to myself a lot....hahaha excellent points and I agree 100%

Oh. I wasn't aware of that !! Thank you for such information. I upvoted this comment to help others know this point as well. Though my vote is not of such high value. Hehe :) Thanks a lot.

How do you post to yourself?

I too think develcuy is correct here.

Guess she means she writes stuff like talking to herself. Sometimes, we must tell things to ourselves out loud!

If so, it is a good tip for me. Just write, write, write. :) and the formatting skills will come.

@himshweta there is a reason why you are successful and I'm glad you have put the time and effort into this article. I certainly learned a few things. A genuine thank you!

Thank you @myday. It feels good when other people think that you are successful. :p :p I won't be one successful person though until I could help the majority. I would be very grateful if you help me in the same by sharing it to your friends. If not, I still thank you a lot for taking the time to read, vote and comment my post. Thank you :)

there are about 200 whales in total

There's only 40 whales total. If you include orcas it goes up to 262.

Thanks for the valuable information. It is more sad to see the whales are far less than I mentioned. I took an approximation of orcas and whales. I will edit it :)

i think you are right dear @demotruk,

I am sure he is. :)

In a few months time you've come quite a long way. I still remember your first posts and one of your comments on one of my articles. :-)

This post is really inspiring and the reminder I needed to invest more time in Steemit.

Keep it up!

Aww that is so sweet of you to remember and comment it here today. Thank you so much for your support. :)

  • Create an engaging tite
  • Add in some cool photographs & gifs
  • Write & express what you want
  • Update constantly and be consistent.
And most of all - enjoy what you are doing. ;)

And hello there Eleven. <3

I realised it after reading your comment that the number of points in the article and the name of the girl are same. Haha. Coincidence !!!

Thanks for your suggestions, vote and comment :)

After reading the whole post (which I seldom do as you guessed correctly) I have to say, I agree 100%!
My first plan when starting off on steemit was to post some small stuff now and then, built up a nice profile and then start going for the big guys. Luckily I changed my plan and went for the very big but seldom posts instead. They did get the attention of Curie (by a huge amount of luck)
My current strategy is pushing out one big quality post per week but that doesn't give me much screentime on the "new" page so I will have to look into some new ideas.

Anyways great article and great profile you got there, followed! And Im not telling you this because I want you to check me out aswell (well maybe a little), but because I want to express how much I like your content :P

Haha, Thanks for reading it completely. You were lucky to get noticed by curie. I got to know about curie when I was already 52 with reputation, and thus never got voted by it even after writing good content. :(

Anyway, I think being on "trending" is more important then being on "new". Isn't it?

Aww, I will check you out because of your honesty ;) . Thanks a lot for appreciating and commenting :)

Yeah unfortunatelly Curie is not only about skill but also about luck..

I agree, one post on "trending" is worth more than 20 posts on "new". However to get on trending you need a extremly strong fanbase, or some whales.. Or atlest a very strong fanbase which can get you to "hot" and then to "trending".

Yes !!! So true and so sad :(.

Thanks for the info. #4 is so true I've been on here for around a week and everyone is so nice and as a human I am fully aware that no one is that nice let alone everyone.

Hahaha. I felt the same when I came here, all astonished to see which planet are these people from. Thanks for your comment.

dear @himshweta, very informative post about steem specially for newbies and minnows. after reading your article feel much awareness about steemit. thanks dear for updating, suggestions and guideline. appreciated.

I am happy that I could make someone aware about it. Thank you so much for voting and commenting. I would be even more thankful if you share this post with your friends and followers too and help grow the steemit community for our own benefit, because the more steemians rise, more will steem's price and more will rise our earnings. I did my part by sharing this. Thanks again :)

Mostly true and sad. It is probably important to look at the realities of Steemit first, then enjoy the community and things worth reading second......

What a worthy suggestion right there. Thanks a lot for this comment :)

This really got to me

Remember, if you deserve something, begging won't help you get it, because beggars only get beggary, not huge dollars.

But 2 and 1, you say its not a community but same time you need to build a fam
and the idea of people only commenting just to get notice is somewhat true
The 11th, curation reward is shared by the amount of steem power you voted with right? But with the above am left to believe the case is the differ

Fans are made on youtube, fb and twitter also and none of these are community building sites, just social platforms. Community is when everyone knows everyone else. Fan base is when fan knows you.

Yes, curation reward is shared that way. I didn't get your last statement though. Why do u think it is different.

With that lets say a new user probably has a vp of 10 or so and SP of 40 will he/she still get any curation reward from the above explanation even though his upvote did not add any reward to the post

Steemit is a game, not a real platform. Learn to play the game like a pro, not a noob. Only the naive are sincere and organic with their content, they will never gain a real fan base. Just write compelling posts, like this one, and people will adore you. People here seem really nice, but they are actually shallow and greedy and say nice things in hopes of making money. It's not a community - anything that might look like community is just favor begging and self-centered. Everyone who agrees with you will upvote you for what they perceive as honesty.

Personally, I disagree. I must be among the naive, since I actually believe that the majority of active posters on Steemit are sincere people. I may be wrong, but at least wrong in a good way. I'm giving everyone, including you, the benefit of the doubt.

Everyone observes the same thing in a different way. No one is right or wrong. Some things work for others, some don't. I wrote what was right for me. Let's see if the majority agrees or not. Time will tell.

Thanks for your comment :)

Such a great help for a newbie like me. I have read all of it and I look forward to read more Ideas like this that helps a new one on steemit. Thank you so much for the hard work @himshweta. Writing from my heart, no pretending here.

Hahaha. That feels so genuine of you. Glad to be of some help. All the best with your journey here. Thanks for commenting :)

Interesting and informative points. But I beg to differ on the lengthy post because I myself don't like to read lengthy posts. Just my opinion.

No body reads lengthy posts actually. People vote when they see you have put in some efforts :p

Well, I've read it all, and I'm up to here reading the comments.

Exceptions are always there dear. I was speaking of the majority. I am glad you are taking the efforts :)

I really agree with most of what you said, actually the point that people don't read posts is obvious, for example on some of my posts I have more upvotes than views. This means that some people just upvoted my posts for their own reasons, but since what I want more than upvotes and money is actually readers and comments that's not going to get me to reciprocate a like of their stuff. I came to Steemit because like you said I thought that the people on here were different, but I couldn't have been more wrong.

That said, I disagree with a couple of points you made. The first is in point 3 where you say that no one ever got rich from begging. Tell that to the begging gangs on the streets or people who pull scams begging for money from well meaning people. Actually begging is quite profitable.

I also disagree with the point that people should write a lot. If people aren't going to read your work what is the point of writing a lot? I've actually noticed that the fictional stories that seem to do best are again IMHO very simply written and cut into short posts of maybe not more than 500 words. I think that we need to take into account language differences that might make it harder for people to write long posts in foreign languages.

Other than these two things I completely agree with you and I'm sure that a lot of people do too. It's just a shame that people are too naive to admit it when even a casual, unbiased observation of this site proves what you said to be correct.

Actually begging is quite profitable.
I also noticed it. This post contains a lot of errors, actually. And, well, a lot of stuff to think too.

Thank you so much for the frank tips. I have been on steemit for about a week now. I can proudly say, I knew about voting around 30 minutes after a fellow steemit posts a post. What is tough to chew, is the perception that Steemit is not a community. :o(

This notion was what drew me to the platform. In the end, as I look towards retirement, earning additional income is the most exciting aspect of participating in this platform. So, I thank you for your helpful tips and sobering perspective.

You can earn here. Steemit being a community has nothing related to earnings. You can still earn. Thanks for commenting.

very helpful and awesomely represented , thanks @himshweta

Thanks Shohana. Where are you from?

Good tips! Thanks for sharing.

“I hear and I forget “ “I see and I remember “ “I do and I understand “

great post, informative and honest, thanks

You have given a realistic factor of Steemit and how to use. Till now I was doing the same stuff that you told to avoid. Hats off to you.

This is such good information!!! Really, this is very helpful.
giphy (3).gif

Thank you for appreciating. I will appreciate it even more if you share it with your friends as well. Thanks :)

Great post. I am glad I found it. I love the social dynamic steem brings to social media if you know what I mean. Keep on steeming!

Please continue to Inspire others. You are good and a class influence of your own choosing. @unilight at inspi shall support your view. by free resteeming.

@himshweta that is the fact. We should all look for certain techniques that will help us all. Thinking outside the box. Thanks for your words

One word: Perfect!

Thank you so much for the RESTEEM !!! :D It means a lot. Followed you. :)

You're welcome! I totally agree with everything you wrote ;)

good article. I have known steemit because your article. Thank you

I lived in a big lie until I read this publication
I was very shocked by your honesty and made me wake up from my sleep
Thanks for the info

I am glad I did something so amazing. Thank you for the comment. Kindly share it with your friends as well too to help them wake up as well. :)

@himshweta, This is not to be understood that I am trying to grab your attention and thus enticing you to visit my profile too. However, no one is preventing you from doing so.

Most of the hidden tips you've mentioned above are quite a gold-value and I do believe we have just scratched the surface being a minnow myself.

It came to me that there are actually proper way of doing things over a period of contemplation about why most of my posts have been an epic failure.

I'd like to specifically point out the importance of thinking outside the box. Only the best psychologists can win this game without spending much into STEEM POWER.

In regard to your point number 6 though, I find it timely considering that I have just published an article suggesting the community to think about whether or not there should be some minimum article length implemented among all content producers. #makesteemitgreatagain

I am glad that my post was of some use to you. I would take a look at your article now. Thanks for your valuable comment :)

Thanks for this. Very helpful!’

You are welcome.

So should I promote posts on promotion channels or is it a waste of time? what do you think?

P.S: I read the whole post :D

I do it from time to time, whenever I feel like it. Takes less than a minute and got me a few extra upvotes. But not in the main post promotion channels, look for the more specific ones like "photography", "travel" of whatever your content is about. Its much more likely people will click it.

Does it work? It doesn't for me !

You read it, and I said it. We promote it once because it makes us feel that we did our work, our task is completed, but completion of our task doesn't guarantee votes !! I wrote it clearly that it is of no use until you are promoting in every half an hour !!

Thanks for reading the whole post and commenting :)

As a new steemit user here, this was so so useful. Glad i found this post, its so true about the whole followers and asking for upvotes. Only been on this platform for less than a week but i have already seen so many users who do this! Kind of annoying really as I'm sure many would want genuine followers who follow and upcote because they actually really do like your content. Its like instagram and twitter so many have tons of followers but barely any likes on their posts - their followers like their posts once or twice just for the sake of it or in the hopes to get a follow or like back but in reality, they're not actually bothered about the persons content 🙄

You saved a few months wastage by gaining so much knowledge. I still remember my beginning days here. Expected so much and was betrayed :p All the best. Thanks for your comment. Kindly share it for helping others as well. :)

Tip #12 : After you increased your reputation above 50, write an article about how to use STEEMit for Minnows.

by upvoting posts in the "NEW" section, which are at least 30 minutes old

Do you have a resource for that suggestion? Most suggestions I have seen say to do voting between the 15-30 minute mark. And then your pay depends on a bunch of people with less Steem POWER than you voting after you do.

This article is my resource. Hehe :p You won't find my words anywhere else deanlogic because I write from experiences and observations. I don't write from researches. The 15-30 min mark is correct, I even said it in my post as well. What I am saying here is different, read it carefully. If heavy votes come after you vote someone, only then would you receive highest reward possible.

Thanks for commenting. Kindly share it with your friends as well for helping them as well :)

@himshweta thank you appeal to @sportic. Your post and will see more than 4,5K of my followers

hahahha, nice one so funny.

It's true that people are not reading. I started about 10 days ago, added numerous cross-links between my posts, but the possibility to get the vote from another posts is - 0%. For the text, you are also right. Doesn't matter what you are writing about - make it long. Size matters. And... The Secret No.12: put the best possible image to present your post. In about half cases I get more votes than views. Good luck!

Thanks for the 12th point. I am glad u are learning and growing. All the best for your journey :) Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for this valuable post.

Hi @himshweta, I have got the same feelings since I started here. But I am keeping my fingers crossed and had a wish that all is well and that everyone is genuine and helping each other to grow here like what you did. These golden secrets of Steemit that you revealed are priceless and should be considered seriously by all Steemians especially the newbies. I also noticed another trend, some people followed you so that you will follow them back but as soon as you follow them, they will unfollow you. And the beggars are trending now, I have seen persistent one also which sometimes very irritating and they are the one that will usually unfollow you immediately after you followed them... sigh. Take care and kudos for this one 👍👍👍😊

Aww that is sad to hear. You should be kind but be careful as well. You need to understand who wants what here. Don't wish all is well. Be cautious instead. Ignore the beggars completely until you want them to vote you as well. I am glad that you think my post is useful for the newbies. Thank you so much for resteeming, voting and commenting. Good luck with your journey here. :) Followed you. :)

1 year ago it was only necessary to write a quality post to have votes for the whales. Today plus you write a quality post will have to pay for the vote of the whale. Knowing this you already know how things are going wrong here. A great post without doubt its always a good dose of reality.

I am here from 3 months only. Feel sad why I wasn't here an year back. But if steemit changed so much in an year, there are amazing opportunities waiting for people on this platform in coming years. Things are going wrong no doubt, we can only take benefit of it if we think out of the box I believe. I am glad that you liked my work.

Thank you so much for voting, reading it and taking the time to comment :)

Just started! all of this is great to know!, thanks!

All the best.

I am proud of you because this is a great information...You also say true that 11 things is not share or not tell me...I know you a kind man..Thanks for your good information..We need your Next Another good Post @himshweta

Thanks Myeasin. Kindly share it with your friends to help them too. :)

Ok i resteem your post 2 hour later can You visit my Blog As Your Wish....And I say You Honesty Is The Best Policy

Thanks dear :) God bless you.

I enjoyed reading your post and I appreciate your honest writing style. I would like to add a quality feature that prevents me from reading a post: grammar. Whenever I find an irritating word association, a total ignorance of grammar rules or bad spelling, I usually discard the post no matter the reputation of the person who posted. I am not a native English speaker and I believe I make my own mistakes, but whenever I post something I make sure I use a text editor (Word from Microsoft Office) to check my grammar and spelling.

Obviously it irritates sometime, but people are learning. They are all from different places. Thanks for commenting :)

Totally agree with your statement about acquiring followers on SteemFollower. The users that follow you back are completely useless, probably because there are a lot of fake accounts on there which obviously don't care about their followers & therefore don't interact with them. I do however partake in the Upvote features of the SteemFollower platform and have had success, but even then that's do to the effort I put forward.

Thanks for sharing this info. It's very important for new comers to know and learn about their options.

Thank you for commenting viktor. I too believe steemfollower is of no use !! People always gave me suggestions that you can follow one person there and after receiving 5 followers u can unfollow them. I felt like slapping them for these stupid suggestions.

Great Post Tell it like it is . however the truth is that if you post regularyly and have great followers who are also growing you can eventually become a tadpole bwhahahaha kidding

Haha. I have seen accounts posting such good stuff with no dollars. Hats off to their persistence !! Thanks for commenting vaerospace.

I read it all....what you are saying so true... I think i have to remember all points you say. So far my account moves so slow and i get nothing on it. Is it a big problem if I put unoriginal photos? I am aware that some of my post are not so long enough.

What do u mean by unoriginal photos? The ones that are not taken by you?

yes,,I took it from google.. Is it a big matter?

You need to mention the source. As I mentioned it in the bottom of the article. Better you too take your pictures from pixabay as the pix there are free. It can be a big matter if you don't mention the real owner of the pix.

absulately.....it's a great platform..to be a perfect man..to earn a perfect doller.
this is the first time i knew from your post ..how will i work on steem.

Thanks @himshweta for the education on steemit. I have learn one or two things.
Nice meeting you also.

I am glad I could be of some use. Thanks for your comment. :)

Good post... nice and long. Maybe too long - I had to scroll and scroll and scroll to uvote, comment and follow. But I did read it and you have a lot of good advice hidden in there among the sarcasm. I have followed you but can't upvote since my Steem Power % is too low to be worth Much ... letting it get back to 100 % - This is another important factor in gaining Steem. Keep your Steem Power % higher than 80 % by only upVoting 5-10 posts a day ... otherwise your Steem Power is Worthless.

That is a good advise there but only for those whose vote really matters :p I have a vote worth 3 cents only. Doesn't matter if I keep it at 80% or 8. Hehehe.

I am sorry for the scrolls you had to take. Hehe. Thank you for reading it till the end.

This is the best post everrrrrrrrr..... Every noob should read this .....

Thank you soooo much.....

Was really good to read! Thanks!

Thanks for commenting scientes. Kindly share it too if you think whatever I said would be useful to your friends :)

Getting followers is useless. Creating a community is useful. Only took me about 2 months to learn. Also, never stop promoting yourself and be confident in what you're doing and if nothing else take it until you are.

Really informative post, Thank you! It's an eye-opener for a new Steemit member like me.

Earned a follow.

Thanks for your excellent post and info!!!

steemit is a journey full of mysteries and surprises

Haha. Seems like the wonderland of alice :p. Thanks for your comment.

nice analogy! ;)

Great post with some good effort put in @himshweta ! I totally agree ! The longer your on here the more you learn , I learn something new everyday , experience brings quality ! Upped and resteemed !✌👍😀

Thank you so much for your vote, comment and resteem :) :)

As a complete noob I'm falling into that relationship building trap but I will continue to give it a go as I am really enjoying interacting with others that have similar interest. Thanks for this useful post.

totally agree, i once spammed and was flageed , went down 7 reputation points, i alway try new things and try different topics and some have worked

Ohh, sad to hear that. You would have been 57 by now if that did not happen. Keep trying. Experimenting is the only way to be successful here :D. Also, kindly share my work with your friends if what they told you was opposite of what I told here. Thanks for commenting :)

Thanks for taking time out to share!

Thanks for taking time to comment :)

Since from joining, i have never seen such a great post as it is totally unbiased and straight in facts. It is without diplomacy and hypocrisy but based on Bitter Truth

Followed, upvoted and Resteemed (its my first post i ever resteemed)... i have done this Just because your thought and your post is....

Good tips and advices. I do not agreed with some of your statements but I turn it to a positive thing to keep in mind. Yup some appeared just to say 'Hey I Upvoted u and u need to follow me back' haa and I go to her or his blog or post to see what they got to deserve my vote. I love the original works especially in photography and any thing about crypto currencies and tech..but unfortunately I fall to some humanity articles which I thought they need some attention too, honestly I can't differentiate which one is the real or honest articles now its more like donation to some hrmm... which I don't really wanna do at first when I signing in with the steemit all I want is to fill up my empty refrigerator then do some deed...I hope its not too late haaaa..Thanks

I learn too many new things about steemt from ur artical.

Tnx @himshweta fr this informative artical
