RE: New Steem? Old Steem?

Machine time or Steem time?

Reminder: We don't live in 2019. We live in block #34,467,817.

Ernst Junger wrote about the history of time, every civilization with the advance of the technique, the measurement of time was modified. I would not be surprised if at some point we talk about blocks after invention of Bitcoin or Steem as we do with anno Domini (AD) and before Christ (BC).

Maybe in every new era we need to come to a new social contract that involves lot of social conventions in order to create new paths for the progress of human kind civilization.

I enjoyed reading your beautiful words.

The idea of changing time units is pretty cool. I had a friend at uni who broke every activity into 30 minute lots for example, gym was 3 units (1.5hr). It helped him schedule better.

I do think that in order to change significantly, a lot of the conventions change alongside as the old models are no longer well fit to society. It happens slowly though, people live to hold onto tradition, even if they are no longer relevant or perhaps, harmful.
