Great read, thanks for sharing. I'm new to the Steem ecosystem and eager to learn and grow with all of you. I'm a bit confused about these groups to join to help grow and which ones are actually legit. Any advice?
I understand a lot of how Steemit works, but when I explain it to less technical friends to join it seems overwhelming and takes 3-4-5 beers to explain it haha. Is there a Steemit for dummies post I can refer them to?
This isn't thorough, but this is what I paste on the bottom of all my posts for people coming from outside Steemit to get a very basic grasp of what it is:

I also notice one of the most primary things people need to know is that they're not using they're money to upvote someone; new Steem is created and doled out every day, and their upvote allots a certain portion of that new money to that person.
