Jerry, I've often thought about the similarities between cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies as being a problem. The similarity between the two media are interesting in that their values are both based upon faith, rather than a solid, intrinsic commodity, such as gold.

I wonder what would happen to cryptos if they were directly convertible into gold or silver, rather than a central bank issued instrument?

I recently posted some observations on this platform dealing with this notion. It certainly is something to consider.
