Dapps will have a much bigger impact than SMTs in my opinion!
Time will tell. To be honest I do care if dapps or SMTs will make steem go mainstream as long as it does!

I'm in agreement with this comment. I am only in crypto for the last two years due to steem alone. In the last six months I have been posting with the dapps that pay with upvotes and no longer use steemit to post at all.
The dapps are the game changer. I still have no idea what a smt is and people have tried to tell me at least ten times. But I know what an esteem or share2steem upvote looks like, and that's what I'm pushing on my social media promos now.
Cannot agree more. Guess my start would have been so much easier if all these dapps were around when I did start 14 months ago on Steem.
While it was a tough start, I never regret that I took the plunge. The only regret I have is not to have started sooner :)
I'm the same - I had earlier chances to join before I did. The idea of crypto kept me out and the learning curve has been a tremendous effort. But now steem pays for my life of poverty in SE Asia, so I have more reasons than most to work for success. I put almost all my other work on the back burner and it would be hard to get it going again.
I'm just about to try @tasteem. They seem to have a wonderful dapp and give great support for restaurant reviews :)
Will try that one out on Sunday!
First I do have to look into it!

I'm not the only one using the money, but I am in the vanguard for sure. Few people pay $85 usd a month for rent, but it gets me a nice place in Kuala Lumpur.
I do eat out at least once a week and tasteem looks like a good place to post. I hope you like it too.
