RE: Loyalty is dead: @dlive and human nature

in #steem6 years ago

To be honest, I think their date of switching is interesting. It’s the date theoretically the floodgates open and that same limited pool of currently 750k/day is shared by potentially many more.

I’m not entirely convinced that many who want fast adoption have truly thought that through or are ready for an ever dwindling amount of vests. The possibly negative psychology of the unpreparedness of those who all want merely upvotes, may have contributed to deciding on the date. I say may, I have not spoken to anybody at DLive about that but IMHO that would make sense.

Agreed on the phat upvotes for boring stuff and also for sweetsssj videos. But that’s a problem also of philanthropy and the community still being focused more on circle-voting selfpatting communities than on truly highlighting the exceptional. Without sufficient stellar quality to put in the shopping window, as a platform you have to regularly throw some bones to both the loyal and newer dogs. It’s still a difficult balance to find, for most platforms right now.

Lots to think about there... especially the first point on the timing.

Agreed that the problems they cited as being reasons for leaving aren't limited to dlive for sure.

It's an interesting development, to say the least!
