Using the Internal Market

to Trade SBD for STEEM

.........................................................................................................................................................................
I just got me a leetle bit of SBD. Probably from curation.

to trade it for STEEM on the Internal Market this is what you do

look up in the upper right hand corner at the three sideways marks by your avatar

left clik on that

it opens up to show

open the currency market and get something like this

lookit the BUY STEEM part (lower left)

see where it say Available 0.391 SBD

clik on the links ('available' and 'lowest ask') a few times and it'll do the numbers and fill in the blanks. (sometimes I have to clik more than once to get it to work...dunno why)

the clik BUY STEEM and you get this

clik OK and you get the password screen.
(I'm not showing that part...I'm paranoid)

fill in your active password then 'sign in'

you get this

go to the wallet

and there's 1.249 Steem that I bought with .391 SBD

then power it up..

which will require the use of your active password again.
(which I'm STILL not Showing)

THEN

you'll have MOAH Steem POWER
....................
ONE MORE THING
Some times for reasons unknown to me the transaction is NOT instantaneous
DON'T PANIC
(leave that to professionals)
you'll see something like this

(different transaction...I power up every penny of SBD I get right now..while the conditions are favorable)

It means (geekspeak, bafflegab..something something financial)...but it will eventual go thru...might take a few minutes...but so far everyone has worked for me and I've done a few

Sort:

How often do you do it?

as often as I get some SBD's
sometimes several times an hour....
most times not so often..
depends incoming rewards..
as long as the SBD/Steem ratio is favorable I'll keep doing it.
when the price of SBD get equal to or below Steem...
then I quit.

Several times an hour!! OMG that might drive me nuts. I admire your patience :)

@benadam: Learn from the whales buddy :)

strike while the iron is hot.
the price of SBD is gradually drifting lower.
who knows what'll happen if I wait?
I'm selling the high dollar SBD as quick as I get it.

OK get it now. Never looked into it as I don't have much SBD rewards anyway. Will cross the bridge when I come it. Thanks explaining though.

Why is the volume so low in the internal market?

perhaps the ACTUAL number of people on Steemit might be the reason?

What do you mean by this? that more people use busy.org or another interface instead of steemit, that there are even more socketpuppets than I assume, or something else?
Does busy.org have an internal market too?
I have been following the internal market for a few days now, and the volume is miniscule.

Perhaps bert and ernie have been sleeping late.

that would have saved me 25 steem i think - a dormant account user called lucy has received a nice present though....
.....it's good to share. grrrrrrrrrrrr

Keep lighting the way and the spike will continue, your doing a good thing!

can't..stop......up.............voting........must .....up....vote.........

I can sympathize with this sentiment. You're VP is still doing better than mine, I can't seem to allow it to go back much above 50%! @ironshield

Be strong friend ! lol.

I was literally looking for an explanation on this and found your post right away. Great timing and thank you! Very informative and easy to follow.

if you are not intending to withdraw funds in the near future - is there any sense in just keeping it as steem (rather than powering it up?)

nope
if you put it in SP it takes seven days to get it out.
which MIGHT be kinda handy if there are password difficulties or Hacking.

thank you, oh wise one..

Thank you for the explanation, it worked.

Smart move. Take your SBD, buy STEEM, convert to STEEM POWER. Invest into the platform, grow and grow and grow! Thanks for sharing the step-by-step and making it simple. @ironshield

Giving a BIG thanks to @weetreebonsai for pointing me to your post. It was clear and straight forward and makes sense to someone who has never used the market before! Thanks!

you're welcome.
I do stuff like that from time to time.
I also write satirical comments on the news.
and other stuff.
hang around...you might enjoy it.
