You were not eligible to use the special attack, as you did not attain the required 5 flawless victories over the first 5 stages. When @lordnigel starts the boss stage up again, you will need to re-roll.
Oh! My bad sorry. I got confused because the bot told me in Stage 5 I was at power level 3 and in this boss post it said if you're level 3 you can use special!

There was a known issue with the bot displaying banked life points and character level as being higher than what it really was for some players. Sorry about that.
