I found this blog post on Steemit https://steemit.com/steem/@steemitblog/update-communities-hivemind which talks about Hivemind/communities along with other things. I think this played atleast a small part in the latest jump in Steem Price but it is still unclear exactly whats causing the pump. Let's enjoy it for now!!

Yes, I recently bought some Bitcoin and Ethereum. Also bought some Steem. I have a long view of this all. And I do not want to say 10 years from now that I should have bought into crypto before Bitcoin hit into the $150K area. And, since Steem is a crypto connected to an actual verified product of content creation, I feel it will go over $10K in the next 10 years.
