RE: The Countdown Is On: Steem Has One Year

in #steem5 years ago

If we can just fix the on boarding problems and the retention problem... I certainly don't have the answers, but I hope it gets addressed quickly.

That said, I think that we SHOULD be charging to access this blockchain. "Democracy" only works when there is a stake involved and we are seeing the value of that in crypto now. The problem with Steem as I see it, is that people get on here and don't see a reason to stay because they don't want to go through the grind. I think they feel too powerless at first and don't understand the system.

Nothing will ever be perfect, but when people must decide on actions when their own stake is at risk, better decisions seem to be made.

I agree with you completely @diggndeeper.com. The perspective changes when people have a little money on the line. Their stake is then more personal as opposed to a few tokens that are earned. When people put up money, they also tend to learn what is going on as opposed to just scanning the headline and saying "this place sucks".

With the price of STEEM still under 50 cents, it is a great time for those who are optimistic about what is taking place to add to their stake. I can assure you there are some Orcas and Dolphins who are taking advantage. How many of the Minnows and Planktons are too?

That is the big question.

That really is the big question.

I'm going to be completely non PC and say that there may be a reason some will never be Dolphins or Orcas. This is an issue for this platform just like in all other aspects of economy.

A rising tide floats all boats, or whatever. Maybe we can at least try to change the culture on here.
