It is easy to witness in steemit, and work with Blockchain Steem Seed Nodes - Can anyone mine steem?, What do you mean?
Generally one as a user votes for the witnesses as they are reliable members of the community, they contribute positively to steem and steemit in various ways, are qualified or have experience in server administration as well as experience in network and cryptomarketing software. Ideally, tokens should keep a steem node productive and up and running 24/7/365.
We all assume that this has some kind of reward for these qualities, services and of course for running your node by turning on 1 steem for every block you produce. Receiving a payment at Steem Power encourages witnesses to make a long-term commitment and also to contribute to the steemit curatorship.
But what is a node and how does it work?
steemit is structured as a peer-to-peer (P2P) network architecture at the top of the Internet. The term peer-to-peer or P2P means that the computers participating in the network are equal to each other, that they are all equal. And every computer that participates in the network is what is known as a node. There are no'special' nodes, but all nodes share responsibility for providing network services. It is the interconnection of the network nodes, in a mesh network with a flat topology. There is no server, no centralized service, and no hierarchy within the network.
The term steemit network refers to the set of nodes that execute the Bitcoin P2P protocol. The Bitcoin network therefore involves a network of computers around the world that constantly relays and transmits new transactions to each other. Each computer in this network is a node that has downloaded the complete blockchain. Due to the decentralised nature of steemit , some nodes may appear and disappear at random moments without impacting the network as a whole, as all nodes are equal and there are no central spatial nodes.
Can anyone mine steem?
We've spent some time trying to make things work and have successfully started extracting Steem, so we've prepared a short guide to help you get started extracting in Windows.
The first thing you need to start before you move into real mining is to register an account on the Steemit website. Please note that registration currently requires that you have a Facebook or Reddit account to use as a means of verification for your registration. After you register, you can also earn money by posting quality articles on the website and interacting in the community at large, and then you can also start exploiting using the guide below.
Start by downloading the latest Steem Windows Wallet and Miner for Windows
The miner binary is compiled for 64-bit Windows, so it won't work on 32-bit Windows.
Extract the steem-win-x64-012-2. zip file into a folder on your computer and run steem-win-x64-012-2. exe.
- The first time you run the Steem Daemon executable it will create a witness_node_data_dir directory and inside it will generate some additional files and folders
Go into the witness_node_data_dir folder and open the . ini file configuration with Notepad or other text editor
- Start by adding some Steem nodes to connect, simply paste the following list below the nodes to connect at the beginning : seed -node = 52. 38. 66. 234: 2001
seed-node = 52. 37. 169. 52: 2001

Witness name add your steemit.com username (you must register before you start mining), so make sure it looks something like this: Witness ='myusername' - Under the name and your private key add your steemit.com username and private key, so make sure it is something like: miner = ["myusername", "yourWIFprivatekeyhereherehere"] - When setting different parameters in the ini file, make sure you do not leave the Firm at the front of the line, as it essentially comments it and the miner behaves like this parameter is not set, so you may get an error that a token or miner is not set. - If you are not sure where to get the private key, simply log in to Steemit.com account, go to your profile.
Profile and then to the Permissions tab . Here you must click Show private key for Active (you may need to log in again first). Note that the key displayed by default is the public key, you must display the private key and use the private key in the settings. Alternatively, you can use the Owner private key, this is also your login password, but for security reasons, it is better to keep the Active key. - Under the steemd. exe again and wait for the block chain to synchronize, it might take about 15-30 minutes or more (depending on your Internet connection) - The Steem block chain already has more than 3.5 million blocks, but the size is not yet that big, it is about 3.3 GB in size, so you will need more of that available free space.
In our tests with an Intel Core i7 5820K CPU (6 cores, 12 threads) running on 12 threads configured in the ini file we are receiving approximately 44390 HPS (hashes per second) as a hashrate or about 31-33 KHS with only 6 active threads.
Note that the extraction apparently requires a lot of RAM, we get approximately 3 GB used for 6 threads and approximately 5 GB for 12 threads for mining, so make sure you have enough RAM on your computer (8 GB or more recommended).
All you have to do now is wait for your miner to arrive first to find a block of POW and then place him in the Miner-witnessue line until it's his turn to confirm a block to transfer his reward to your Steemit.
Number of threads to use add mining-threads = 1 or higher, depending on the amount of CPU you want to use for mining, more threads result in higher hashrate - Now you are ready to start extracting, just run.
The steps for setting up a seed node are pretty much the same as setting up a witness node. Instructions for that are here: https://steemit.com/witness-category/@timcliff/steps-for-setting-up-a-witness-node-the-manual-way
