RE: [AskSteem] Can Someone Explain SteemIt Payouts?

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

I guess where it's confusing is that STEEM Dollars is no longer in parity with the usd, was that the initial purpose of SBD? Is the dollar value listed on every post/comment suppose to be a USD representation of payout?

was that the initial purpose of SBD?

Yes, it was intended to be a smart contract which would always be worth about a dollar. Obviously, that hasn't worked as well as they would've liked.

Is the dollar value listed on every post/comment suppose to be a USD representation of payout?

Yes, assuming SBDs are worth exactly $1.

Can you help me figure out why the post payout, 75 percent of approx 99 sbd only paid out approx 37.5 sbd and 9.5 sp? I had put 45 sbd into the post, and did not lose any of the bids. So how did i end up losing money?

The posts are listed in sbd, so it should have been 75 percent of 99 sbd. Im confused.
