It's been 3 months since I last fired up my lease with @minnowbooster on a 100sp request delegation, and I paid 5steem for 12 weeks of delegation. Originally, I have 100sp delegated to @cnstm already, for the development of @wherein and other games dApps. Other than looking for a return, part of my pride is signaling me this is a Chinese project, as a Chinese I definitely know China has the number, and number means possible future return of investments.

Since my delegation request is updated, instead of taking back my portion of 100sp, I delegated another 100sp to @cnstm, that makes my delegation value currently up to 200sp. What am I taking back from @cnstm currently? Let's tak a look. Daily upvote of 8%, currently translated as $0.027.


Other than that, I'm also getting 0.044steem on a daily payout. Supporting team is using our delegated SP to upvote content creators/contributors and whatever balance is giving back to investors like myself.

Actual ROI

Let's face the truth, all that seems to be too good to be true, and I'm sure they're not as good as it seems. Because, whatever we're receiving, only 75% goes to the author and 25% goes to the curator. My detail payout for a day should be

$0.027 * 0.75(author reward) = $0.020

Current steem price 0.238 = $0.020 / 0.238 = 0.084steem

Now my leasing is on 12 weeks basis, and there for we shall make a calculation based on our income 0.044 a day from the officials, and also 0.084 from post payout. Daily total of 0.128steem should be paid if #steem price consistent. For 12 weeks, it should be 10.752steem(half of them should be SP) Don't be too happy, let's not forget I have my own 100sp in at stake, so the leasing 100sp that cost me 5 steem need to be burnt as expanses. If we consider the two blocks of 100SP are rented, which means I have already paid 10 steem for the two blocks, and it will in the end make a total net profit of 0.752 steem. Come on man, what a loser!

Let's do a 100sp simulation and see what can we get? Correct, that's $0.001 worth of upvote. For example, if we do not lease, we will have to create 10 posts or 10 comments and perform 10 times self upvotes. And we will be able to fetch $0.01 a day. In 120 days, we will be able to fetch $1.20. Frankly, without wasting my 5 steems, I appeared to be much more profitable because I do not need to forkout that 5 steems in the first place, secondly my upvote will still be as powerful as it is today. The only problem is, I will not be able to have voting power for other people. This, will ulimately make me a #steem caveman that hiding inside my cave and masturbating 10 times a day, 120 times over the period in order to earn $1.20

Once again, the reality is, I seldom self upvote. I need my voting power to perform curation work. Nonetheless, what I have done to the community, I always get kick back. I get my curation reward, sometimes even higher than what I have given to others? Let's find some cool example here:

See that? I'm not saying I'm good at it, I'm just saying rewarding others can sometimes be very beneficial. Will I delegate more? Yes ofcourse, but I think I prefer to use my own SP by myself rather than giving everything to other people. Those who lazy to manage their rights, delegate your SP to me via @dlease and I will take anything around 16% to a maximum 18% APR.

My point is, regardless how little I earn from this lease. All I care is, as long the income does not eat into my principal, I will keep the program afloat. I have renewed my lease for another 12 weeks, let's hope the delegator continue to support me.

I have a total 1200 on the lease right now, and I have spent a total amount of 143 steems. So far I seen a lot of breakeven, I can't guarantee in the end all these will be positive yet, but it does gives me a lot of freedom of lowering my voting power going out.
