My last post, where I was contemplating leaving Steemit, had quite a hefty discussion in the comment section. Most of the comments were fairly positive towards Steem and Steemit, giving me some much needed food for thought.

Looking back at the conclusions I made in that post, I realize that I might have been a little bit harsh regarding Ned's response. While it's certainly not a bad thing to be critical, it's also very important to realize when you're overreacting a bit. I would say that that was the case on my end, for that I apologize.

Truth of the matter is that, if I were to leave the Steem community I'd probably regret doing so. It's clear that Steem is more than Steemit Inc. and even if we were to see a massive sell-off, there would still be people keeping this platform alive. The latest post of @exyle also explained recent events in a way that made me confident about Steem again.

Doubling Down

So, with these recent price drops and with the knowledge that I'm not going anywhere, I've decided to increase my investment in Steem.

I've spent close to 300 EUR to buy +1000 Steem for powering myself up to become a dolphin. Now i'm officially part part of the Steem middle-class, a term that @meno likes to use from time to time.

Leasing 16k SP

Powering up is great, but that doesn't make my vote worth much yet. I also wanted to help blow some life into Steem, by getting some delegations that will allow me to manually curate more people.

They still need to be filled, if you're interested in leasing your SP to me, check out both Delegationhub & Minnowbooster

I will use this delegated Steem Power to manually curate content on eSteem & Steeve.

Supporting a Project with a 500SP Delegation

Now that I have a bit of extra Steem Power at my disposal, I can add another delegation for a project that's beneficial to Steem.

Truth be told, I have no idea which project I should choose, so I'm leaving this up to you.

Let me know in the comment section which project should receive the free 500SP delegation and I'll pick the one that has the highest upvote value.

  1. @pifc pay it forward is the next step after finding your spot here on the steemisphere I think. Helping out and paying dues....... so @darkhorse could use a small delegation I think.
  2. @steemitmamas gotta love that bunch of great ladies. We need more of them! They are combined with @needleworkers / @needleworkmonday and growing slowly.
Ladies from All over the globe looking out for eachother sooooo give both a thought please.

Rest a said wishing you a grand weekend and See you around in Steem Terminal

Gr. Britt

Hello @daan! First let me say congratulations on becoming a dolohin and I am glad you decided to stick around. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

I second @brittandjosie’s nominations for @needleworkmonday and @steemitmamas! I am the founder of @needleworkmonday and our goal is to fill up the Steemit blockchain with the needle arts, sharing the beautiful hand skills of our Steemians. Every Monday we get together using the #needleworkmonday tag to share our passion, ideas, tips, patterns etc and we have a blast. The needle arts and the hard work it takes to make things is overlooked and a lot of times unappreciated. We are trying to change that and need help to be able to better support and reward the needle workers. We have a weekly curation and ongoing challenges under the @needleworkmonday account!

I am one of the mod’s for @steemitmamas and it is such a wonderful place for the mothers of Steemit to be! We have a ball sharing with one another and supporting each other’s busy lives. We believe in helping mothers to be their best here and support their work through curations and challenges. It’s been amazing collaborating with mothers from across the globe and sharing life together. There are some mothers who are also needleworkers and the @steemitmamas has supported us tremendously. They even host our Discord group under their server...we are working together to give love and support!

Thank you for your time and I hope you would consider these two initiatives as ones you delegate too! 😊

Thanks for the nomination @brittandjosie! 😘

I support @brittandjosie vote for @steemitmamas and @needleworkmonday. Both surporting the ladies all over and bringing them together.
Most importantly is the strength and understanding of each other.
Do pick us 🙏

Yes, yes, yes, to @steemitmamas and @needleworkmonday!! So grateful to be among movers and changers that rock the cradle and Steem one day at a time! Thanks for the beautiful shoutout and consideration 💓

Awesome @brittandjosie for the nomination! Thank you! @daan thank you for your initiative ans Congratulations on becoming a dolphin! Very happy for you. It is really heartwarming to see that lots of people still want to help different communities. @steemitmamas was set up to help Mums on Steemit to support their journey. We hope to be able to do more in Steemit in the new year!

I'm glad that you're staying, and also glad that your "might leave Steemit" post generated some criticism - not because it was a bad post. Everyone has a right to an opinion. But it's good to see people speaking out in support of the platform in these tough times!
I would recommend the WelcomeWagon for your delegation, because they are nurturing the new Steemian babies, who need love and support to help them find their feet and thrive in the Steemiverse :) And maybe some of those Steemian babies will grow into Steem investors, promoters and even developers!

Yeah I appreciated the honesty in the comment section as well. I'll keep the WelcomeWagon in mind!

Good to see that you are opened minded and will be staying here, wherever "here" might end up being.
Plenty of good people and great ideas exchanged on here so I am sure you will get some good recommendations on where to place that delegation. You might consider thesteemengine since it is home to you and a lot of the people who follow you.

Yeah I've already delegated to TSE, but I'm not opposed to increasing that :)

That is awesome! I was going to point you to @exyle's post hoping it would give you a different perspective. Glad to see you found it on your own! I have not dug into it much myself, but I have heard that dstor is a project that might have some potential and apparently has a pretty good whitepaper out. You might want to check into that.

Oh yeah Dstor seems like a good option, but they're fairly new here.

Hey! great news @daan glad to hear you've become a dolphin.
As for projects, there is @blissfish which a raffle upvote bot , check out @chibera , @dstors so many to choose!

@blissfish is a really good one to consider; especially for the minnows and the community!

Worthy cause Daan!

I would consider @c-squared as a delegating project because I do find that they find super good content but dont have enough SP to give big PHAT votes

Now that's a great suggestion! They would deserve it 100%, I hope it stays here at the top :P

Yeah hope it as well! Dont want to self vote it even though it is for a worthy cause hahaha

We need more support!

My upvote will definitely help a bit :P Even if they don't win, I'll give them a delegation anyway.

LOL! YES! I upvoted the comment, but glad to hear this. Thanks @daan! And @karinxxl for suggesting! Curation projects are too often overlooked and this one is particularly awesome.

<3

Well... this is a great suggestion! Not sure that my vote will help much though!

Nice Daan ! Really a nice one!

It's fun having Steem voting Power isn't it? lol

Congrats on becoming a dolphin! As for delegating maybe The Steem Engine or the Steem-UA?

Both projects already have some delegations from me, but that doesn't mean they can't get some more! :P

Glad that you're sticking around, there's a lot of revolutionary things that Steem can do.

@blockchain-edu is starting a Steem publication for our students to share their experiences learning about and using Steem and other blockchain related projects. Imagine that - students earning financial aid for learning. Steem makes it possible!

That looks like an extremely important project, great that there are people like you who are doing stuff like this.
