RE: My thoughts on Steemit after 15 months, 800 followers and a single powerdown.

Don't feel too bad about powering down. We all need to take profit sometimes. Just keep up the consistency with the quality posts and you will have more Steem than you'll know what to do with!

Sort:

It made me realise how much I want to reach this goal of mine more than anything. New people are joining every day with similar goals and Steem will get rarer. I'll get there for sure but it will be a long journey.

What is powering down?

How do I avoid doing that?

You can choose to power up your Steem. This will lock up your Steem and in exchange your voting power goes up. The amount your votes give is directly related to yout Steem Power. When you wish to sell some Steem and you only have Steem Power, you can choose to start powering down it. This will change your Steem Power back to Steem once a week and you can then sell it for btc for example.

At this point I have 0 steam and .905 steem power..so it seems I am not powering up anything at the present moment.

Yep, you better just hold on to everything you'll get and power up.

  • If you like the platform of course or want to have a bit more say in it. Even 1 cent upvote and a good comment could mean a world to someone.

Thanks for all the assistance. I will keep plugging along with the commenting and posting...let the chips fall where they want.

Don't make it a work is my advice or really put in the effort. Even then one has to prepare for not making enough. The competition on the internet is fierce.

But even 1 cent is more than I've gained anywhere else for all my comment and posting so it's a win for me.

Very true. Facebook or Reddit never knocked on my door offering me a check either. Hell Zuckerberg could have at least given everyone a share of stock from his billions.
