I'm on Steemit since December, so I'm pretty new, but since the very start I noticed the following issues:

First, I wish Steemit made it easier to explore new content: featured posts, suggested posts, like how youtube displays its content in a way.. makes it difficult to find new interesting stuff.

Second, older good content is very difficult to find and there's no incentive to curate old posts. Ideally, instead of going on youtube to search for every single thing I do in life "how to XYZ", I could do the same on Dtube. Problem is, many of those posts are past 7 days old and there is no point for me to upvote. Also, Steemit search is still Google based... come on already!

Third, now that we're on 7 days payout: it's really very much about the first 12-24 hours, after which your content drowns and you don't get exposure after that.

Last, like you said... without being a part of a larger community or a snbox/curie initiative, even the most outstanding posts don't get noticed. I know personally a few new Steemians who were discouraged by this and as a result stopped posting. On the other hand, if you were to become a youtuber now, it'd also take you ages before you gain much audience and likes. People on Steemit seems to be quite impatient to get rewarded and recognized, many quit after a few >$1 posts.

This is my share of rambling thoughts. Do you guys think Steemit can improve on this? If so, what could they do?
