With STEEM Prices So Low Right Now I Couldn't Resist Buying a Little More of That Sweet Sweet STEEM POWER
Mmmm that feeling when you just powered up. I had some good luck come my way and scored a nice little contract gig and to celebrate I bought a little STEEM and POWERED IT UP!
Current prices are relatively low and are hopefully near a bottom.
For about $100 USD worth of BTC and left over SBD from rewards I was able to power up over 700SP and am now over 4K SP HURRAY!

is there any other reason to have SP now, besides the fact that it makes your upvote worth more?
Well for me its a bit of a speculative investment that inflates at 9.5% while powered up, makes my votes worth more (including votes for myself) and hopefully will be worth more than the $0.13 per STEEM that I paid today in a year or more.

9.5% is the total APR of ALL Steem.
75% of this goes to authors !
another 10% of this new steem goes to witnesses.
The last 15% from this 9.5% inflation finally goes to Steem power Holders.

You only get 15% of 9.5% APR for your Steem Power Holdings.

0.095 x 15 = 1,425 %
This is the actual inflation you are earning with Holding Steem Power.

Hmm from what I understood there was another layer of inflation for the vested steem to protect it against the dilution you mentioned above. Maybe that was under the old system?

The same happen Yesterday to me. I couldn't resist and I spent all my SteemDollars on Steem. So I bought additional 386 STEEM :)

Can i please ask exactly what steempower does. until now, i dont seem to understand that yet. i have not withdrawn once since i started and have mostly steem power. so like more than 1k steem power. i wish i ever had some bitcoin but i have never had. for steempower tho. what has been the difference in my case. i havent been able to identify the difference of now that i have 1k steempower from when i used to have like 50 steempower. do you think any difference occured. what will difference be in your case now? does it influence, how much you earn from posts?
You could look at the curation earnings from your upvoting on Steemdb.com
If you have been curating(upvoting) from the start and did it consistently day by day you should be able to see a exponential increase in your curation rewards over time.
It doesn't influence your earnings from posting, only your curation rewards.
Check Steemdb.com --> Activity --> Rewards --> Curation rewards

For now i believe it is, i do think there is some interest to be earned from holding steempower as well. Not quite sure how much though, and the use of giving quality content a meaningful upvote offcourse ;)

I haven't bought any but it looks like I am getting a little power myself. It seems to be slowly creeping up - really slowly, I must note, I gained something like .003 units yesterday.
By the way, when it comes to pay-outs - why would it be that I would get a penny for something like 40 upvotes whereas I can see other people get a couple of bucks, or even more, for the same number of upvotes. I have even seen people who would score, say, 100 upvotes and get $10 for that. How does it work?
