RE: The Countdown Is On: Steem Has One Year

It is also very important that Steemians take note of @jpbliberty 's class action case against Facebook and Google. If you held any crypto or had any interest in a crypto business a year ago, you can join the class. You can also talk to @apshamilton who is leading the legal work on this.

By adopting their own internal crypto currency only a year after declaring the entire crypto industry to be a scam and banning us all from the worlds largest advertising market was almost certainly a crime (in Australia at least and perhaps elsewhere).

You can also (if you want an extra stake in the case) choose to contribute to the legal expenses and this is particularly easy for Steemians because in return you will receive the SUFB token on Steem-engine.

All the details can be found in this recent post from JPBLiberty.

That's a great idea. Despite Libra being beneficial to the crypto space as such a class action suit will generate publicity that will draw attention to the space.

Libra will not have any of the aspects of a crypto currency that matter. It will be entirely centrally held by Facebook. I'm not even sure why they feel the need to introduce a crypto currency except for buzzword compliance. They could centrally manage their own currency without using a blockchain.

I'm not completely sure about that.

If that is the case, it means that Facebook thinks buzzworld compliance is a good thing in this case. What that means is that Libra will be a good thing for the crypto sector as it will legitimize it in the eyes of the masses.

Yes, if it really is centralized. But then again STEEM is centralized, too. Steemit Inc still owns over 50% of the stake. In theory, our witnesses are their puppets.
