RE: Can I get a new Steemit account?
From the STEEMIT FAQ
Accounts
How do I create an account?
Click on the "Sign Up" link at the top of steemit.com to get started.
You will be asked to enter your email address and verify your phone number. After your information has been verified, you will be added to the waiting list to receive an account. You will be notified via email once your account is approved.
After you receive notification that your account is approved, click on the link in the email to finish the account creation process. Be sure to save and backup your username and password. It is very important that you do not lose your password. There is no way to recover your password or access your account if it is lost. Once your password is saved and backed up, click on the "Create Account" button to create the account.

What information do I need to provide in order to create an account?
You will need to provide your email address and phone number.
^
How long does the account approval process take?
Some accounts are approved faster than others. Most accounts are approved within 24 hours. Some may take a week or two to review.
If your account has not been approved after more than two weeks, you can ask for help in the #help channel on <a href='https://steem.chat/home">steem.chat.
^
Can I speed up the account approval process?
There is currently no way to speed up the account approval process. If you are unable to wait, there are third-party websites listed below that allow you to bypass the approval process and pay to open an account.
^
Why do I need to provide my email and phone number?
To create an account on the blockchain, it costs STEEM tokens. When you create an account through steemit.com, Steemit Inc. is supplying the tokens to pay the account creation fee. In order to prevent users from abusing the paid-for signup and creating multiple accounts, we need to be able to verify that each user is only signing up for one account.
^
Let me repeat that last line:
we need to be able to verify that each user is only signing up for one account.
It is all available in the *FAQ page on steemit. There is more, but that should maybe help.
Some people have more than one account. Some accounts are not even people. Some accounts are groups, stores, things. Therefore, their rule is not a rule as they accept objects and not only people. They accept group accounts and not just individual accounts which means potential overlap.
Only 1 free steemit account allowed. You can make and have as many accounts as you want, YOU just have to PAY for them.
Only 1 free steemit account allowed.
Make and buy as many accounts as you want STEEMIT is only going to give you ONE FREE account.
How is that enforced? Do you understand how difficult that might be to verify something like that? Are you only thinking about this in theory?
Did you not read the FAQ? I am not in any way associated with steemit. I have no idea how they enforce it. I guess if you have two phones and two different e-mail addresses you can get a second free account. I would guess that if they found out that you had a second free account they would somehow shut it down. You would have to ask them. Go to the steem.chat room they mentioned and ask there. As far as I am concerned this conversation is over.
I am not a part of steemit.
I do not know how they would verify if you cheated and lied and got a second free account from them.
I do not know what their action would be, but you would be in violation of their terms of service and would deserve any action they took against you for lying to them in order to achieve a second free account.
You obviously have no self respect or respect for the creators of steem and steemit by trying to lie and cheat your way into a second free account. All this because you were careless with your original account and lost that which was not to be lost, your Master Key.
You have more than 3 steem in your account, buy your second account and be done with it. Stop the whining. Stop the cheating. Stop violating the terms of service.
It is obvious to me that you will not accept responsibility for your own actions. The #introduceyourself tag is for new users. You lost your Master Key, not any one else. You are the one whining about your inability to be a responsible person, so you are trying to cheat, beg and cajole a free account from some one or from steemit by lying.
Take responsibility for your action, and buy, your second account. Maybe since it would cost you something you would take care of it instead of just trashing it because it was a gift and you did not pay for it.
I am just saying things for the record. I went through the steps. There is no emotion in words. So, you might be making false assumptions by reading into text whatever you want to see or believe. Humans normally do that. From a scientific point a view, I'm observing as a historian.
I want people to know how things are.
Sadly, you might be ignorant or deceptive.
People make multiple accounts.
You focus on a theory.
But it's important to look at how things are.
