The Line-up for the Bitfilm Contest is Ready

We have finished the selection of films for the Bitfilm Contest 2017. Out of 642 entries, we chose 16 to compete for your votes. Thanks a lot to our volunteers Chirag, Marten and Nyl for helping to select the films!

We are quite happy with the results and the variety of their styles. There are some live-action movies, several animations and some which mix both. We even have a dance film! 

All films somehow talk about the relation of new technology and human society. Some do it more directly, some in an experimental way. It looks like our rather fuzzy motto "The Crypto Future" was a good choice.

The voting will start on Monday, the 16th, at 12am Central European Time. We will make one post per film on our @bitfilm account. You will then have seven days to upvote your favourites.

The film with the highest number of votes (regardless of the Steem revenues) on October 23rd, 12:00 CET will win. All Steem-backed dollars will go into one jackpot which will be divided like this:

• 50% will be paid out to the winner film
• 25% to the second place
• 10% to the third place 

The remainder will be used to fly in the winner to Lisbon and host him or her at SteemFest. The award ceremony will take place during the "Night of Steem" on November 3rd. Due to the open nature of Steemit, the winners will be known beforehand, so there will be no "And the winner is..." moment on stage.

Anyway, I am sure we will have a great party at SteemFest 2!
