RE: MENANGKAN 6 (+3) STEEM!! IKUTI DISKUSI TENTANG TAGAR INI!
Shopping!
You might like shopping or you might hate it. I am one of those who don’t like shopping.
There is one thing we all have in common when shopping is that we all look at the tags or the labels.
That my friends are exactly what #hashtags or tags are. It is what we use for our “shopping” on Steemit. The usage of #hashtags or tags is one of the key elements which is required in Steemit.
This is what I wrote about tags two years ago. That was also when tags were used by the different curatoring teams.
I'm sure you can still remember these classifications. (•ิ‿•ิ)
| Team | Tag |
|---|---|
| Arts | #art, #crafts, #photography, #music, #poetry, #creativewriting, #writing, #poetry, #music, #dance, #handicrafts, #creative, #diy, etc. |
| Finance & Technology | #fintech, #finance, #business, #crypto, #science, #technology, #computing, #cryptograph, etc. |
| Lifestyle | #lifestyle, #health, #fitness, #sport, #leisure, #food, #travel, #garden, #gardening, #recipe, #betterlife, etc. |
| My Life | #mylife, #thediarygame, #mytownin10pics, #actsofkindness, #charity, #news, etc. |
| Steem Growth | #steemgrowth, #steempromotion, #powerup, #marketing, #development, etc. |
Lately, this has changed, and curating takes place more "freely.".
That leaves me with the question: do we still need tags?
YES!
I still shop, and I still want to tag my post, but not longer according to MUST use tags but according to tags that I think are relevant to my post.
But then I have to ask myself: if I use the tags that I want, how relevant would they be for the following.
- Readership engagement
- Analysis of data
- Organizing posts and
- Classification
This is also what we did with our curating team. We grouped tags together.
Any contest tag will go under "contest." Any financial related tag under "finance" and so on.
In the end, Steemit is a free platform; use whatever tag you want to use that is relevant to your post, and if anyone wants to use it for data, it is for them to group tags together. You will still receive engagement from readers.
Let's stop complicating things and instead concentrate on enjoying Steemit.

I highly appreciate this, @patjewell. That is an awesome table you show us. Thank you. Even though things have changed, but I think the same with you do, it is still important aspect of an article.
Ah, I see you are facing dilemma, and great, you came out with "stop complicating things and get back to enjoying Steemit".
I guess I see the same, that things are a lot different now on Steemit, like today it is like it's not a big deal anymore in using AI generated images in a post. I myself, enjoy making my own pictures even though sometimes I use other's.
I think this may not be important to you, but if you would like to be included in the draw, for fun, with a chance to get a few STEEM, please call 3 Steemians to join the discussion. Thank you.
Thanks.
Thank you for the nice comment!
Steemit is indeed far more relaxed these days. I am just not sure if it is a good or a bad thing.
I suppose only time will tell. (•ิ‿•ิ)
I wasn't going to take part, but seeing that you are "inviting" me... let's do it!
I invite @waqarahmadshah @ishayachris and @simonnwigwe to give their opinions about tags and the use of them.
Thank you for inviting me to participate in this discussion. I believe the table you provided covers almost every category with its tags. Since I have no experience with curation, I'm unsure whether curation teams search for posts using tags or freely browse through them. Like you, I have a feeling that they often curate posts without focusing on specific tags.
To contribute something new to this discussion, I would like to mention that, in addition to the tags listed in the table, there are some essential tags, such as steemexclusive, country, and club tags, which I believe everyone is aware of. Beyond that, I am not sure what else to add here...
Well my friend, with that I think we've covered it all. ☕
Thank you, waqarahmadshah. Let's shift the topic a bit—I'd like to ask, what are the 3 tags you often use, and why? Thank you if you’re willing to share.
And please tag 3 people, as that’s a requirement for me to include your name in the draw.
Yep. Time will tell.
You are added to the draw list.
Thanks for joining, makes it more fun.
Thank you ma'am for the invite. I have dropped my view.
Thanks, ishayachriss.
I found it (•ิ‿•ิ)
