Steem Music #2: The Apples in Winter
The weather here was FREEZING COLD today, a very rude awakening after the 65*F and sunny springtime weather we had just a mere two days prior. My poor daffodils were bent over and crusted with snow. 😱
Anyhow.
Given the abrupt change in weather, I felt it apropos to present this fun little jig, “The Apples in Winter.”
In this video I’m playing it on my Clarke ‘Sweetone’ C whistle; most tinwhistles are pitched in D, not C, but I liked the lower pitch. Clarke has the notoriety of being the oldest continuous maker of tinwhistles. The England-based company was founded in 1843, and has kept their tradition very well in my humble opinion. The ‘Sweetone’ whistle was introduced into their product line in 1996, and has the unparalleled distinction of being one of the first tin whistles made with a plastic head.
Enjoy! 💕
