Mutual Cooperation Activities at the Baiturrahim Grand Mosque, Lhoksukon

in STEEM INDONESIA2 months ago

Hello everyone..

There was a feeling of satisfaction even though we were sitting sluggishly tired and sweating cold in the front lobby of the Land Service office shortly after we returned from Lhoksukon City. Yes! I and a number of other colleagues have just carried out mutual cooperation which is a charity activity in order to welcome the holy month of Ramadan in a few days.

The social activity agenda is recommended through a circular from the local regional head, especially to all ASN employees within the North Aceh Regency Government. The target of cleaning activities is specifically targeted at places of worship such as mosques. Coincidentally, our agency's ASN employees had the opportunity to clean the environment of the Lhoksukon City Grand Mosque.

To be precise, on Tuesday (25/02/2025) at around 08.00 WIB we started to depart from Lhokseumawe City to Lhoksukon City. Lhoksukon has been the capital of North Aceh Regency since Government Regulation Number 18 of 2003 was issued, but due to location and budget readiness factors, several North Aceh Regency government agencies are still domiciled in the Lhokseumawe City area, one of which is the agency where we work.

The Baiturrahim Lhoksukon Grand Mosque is one of the beautiful mosques in North Aceh Regency with typical Middle Eastern architectural nuances, both interior and exterior, with a combination of several colors, the most dominant being white and blue and equipped with unique carvings on almost all parts and sides of the building. Located right in the middle of the capital, namely in Kota Village, West Lhoksukon neighborhood, Lhoksukon City, North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The mosque was built on an area of 3,600 m2.

For additional information, the Great Baiturrahim Mosque in the center of Lhoksukon City is not only a place for the five obligatory prayers, Friday prayers and prayers for the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha holidays. However, it is routinely used and is currently used as a place for teaching and learning Islamic religious education for the sons and daughters of local residents.

Sadly! We couldn't enter the mosque (holy place) because our body and clothes were dirty, so we couldn't take photos of the side of the building inside the beautiful mosque.

History of mosque construction. This mosque was built in 1972, not only local community leaders, but the regent of North Aceh district at that time, Abdullah Yacob, also strongly supported the construction of a place of worship for Muslims in the area after exchanging land for the People's School or SD Negeri 3 Lhoksukon (currently) to become the location for building the mosque in the same year.

The construction of the Baiturrahim Lhoksukon Grand Mosque took a very long time due to limited construction budget and lack of land, after going through several renovations, and the last renovation was carried out around 2004, namely in August when Ir. Tarmizi A. Karim serves as Regent of North Aceh Regency.

The cost of building this mosque not only used the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), it was also built through local community self-help and donations from benefactors. Currently, the mosque building looks beautiful and majestic from a distance after the main dome and four other small domes surrounding it were completed perfectly.

That's all my review about mutual cooperation activities in Baiturrahim Mosque Lhoksukon. Thank you very much for your visit and support...

salam,
@ridwant
