steem withdrawal from Bitshares?steemCreated with Sketch.

in #steem-help7 years ago (edited)

the help item in bitshares says in order to withrdaw steem i need to do it through the open.ledger gateway, but open.steem is not there in the dropdown menu...

How do i withdraw steem from bitshares?

Update: After a few days, finally had an e-mail exchange with openledger support (who doesn't speak English very well, we had a few miscommunications first):

Hello!
Currently we have an issue with STEEM and SBD wallets, as soon as it will be solved, we will be able to investigate your transaction.

No ETA or anything of the sort.

Update 2: the withdraws are reenabled

Sort:

The safest and most trustworthy exchange nowadays is Bittrex in my opionion. I can recommend that one to avoid such problems.

Yeah, i'd like to support decentralized exchanges where I can. Annoyed that this feature is removed without any word about it. I'm surprised it's not mentioned anywhere...

It has been mentioned, but not nearly as prominently as it needs to be. I empathize and share in your annoyance - I'm in the same boat.

FWIW, BlockTrades is processing STEEM withdrawals, but that's in no way helpful if you already bought steem on BitShares. I looked into it, and found that I would have to take an unacceptable hit if I sold my BTS and then used BlockTrades bridge to withdraw steem.

I would like to know this also

They are working on the gateway infrastructure, be patient.

Can you elaborate? So there is no way for me to transfer my steem off the network?

why don't you just contact their support team instead of posting this topic on a random social media site?

I posted on steem-help and bitshares on the steem network which was created by the same people that made the bitshares network. Not really a random social media site in this context.

Seems pretty logical to me that some one in these two groups might know the answer to this, especially since bitshares is spammed on here like crazy for being "like, the best exchange ever"

Why you trolling on a random social media site?

P. S. I did contact their support team yesterday when i posted this and have gotten no reply.

BitShares is not like other cryptocurrencies which have a single team behind it. It has long since grown into a platform with multiple businesses built on top of it, that are not necessarily connected in any ways other than being built on the same platform. OpenLedger is one of these businesses.

If you already bought the Steem, it's best to wait. If you have bitUSD that you want to buy Steem with, you can do so with a withdrawal via the BlockTrades bridge.
