If there is something we really DO NOT do when entering a content platform, it is reading the rules of the game. And is that in Steemit is vital although it seems unnecessary. My friend told me:

- Do you have Facebook?

- Of course! I answered.

- Then if you do the same thing in Steemit, you can make money.

And so I entered this social platform, with a gigantic enthusiasm to write everything without knowing where I was entering.

What do you know about your REPUTATION?

Yes, that little number that is next to the name in your blog.

I will tell you what I've learned in the time I have in Steemit, searching everywhere for information to understand and publish something about it that is simple to assimilate and explain to others newer.

The REPUTATION measures the value or contribution you have added to Steemit, whether publishing content or curing the content of other users. We all start with 25 reputation points and as we interact on the platform, it will increase ... but it can also decrease. To learn more about this, you can access STEEMIT FAQ.

HOW CAN I INCREASE MY REPUTATION?

Basically, there are two ways to increase it:

1.- Publishing original content.
When we publish quality content, other users who may be interested in your publication, will surely vote and comment your article, causing you to increase your score. If any of them have a high reputation, it will influence much more than someone who has a lower reputation.

2. Curing content of others.
All of us, somehow, want to be recognized in Steemit, so that our publications are seen by many, and of course, generate lucrative profits, and this leads us to forget something very important and vital within the platform ... And it is the Curation process of the post.

So there must be a balance, and as long as we are learning on efficiently within Steemit and we are creating our community of "true followers," I think it is good to devote ourselves to commenting and learning from others.

On a platform where everyone wants to be authors and there are no readers, it will be just like being on a boat and everyone wants to be captains and no sailor. Ramón Inciarte

Now, in both publication and curation, there is a chance that our reputation will increase. However, from my experience, I have had better results curating than publishing, so, in a single comment voted, not only increased my reputation from 38 to 48, but also I could generate more than $ 74, which I have not yet achieved with all The publications I've made at Steemit.

While it is important to have a high reputation, so is having a community of followers who really follow the work you publish, and it is necessary to generate not only traffic to your post through other social networks, but also create a link with The people who follow you, a relationship to know what they need to read exactly, and this is not achieved in a few days. So, I've come up with some ideas that have worked for me so far and I'm sure they can work for you too:

1.- DEDICATE time to prepare your publications.
This will allow them to be well-written and with good images, and to actually contain the information that the title offers.

2.- TAKE the time to "cure" the publications of others.
Commenting is an art where you add value. We must read not only the post to add relevant information, but also the comments; So you will not repeat with other words what has already been commented by another user. If the author or those who read the publication impacts what you write, you can get rewarded very well.

3.- RESPOND the comments in your posts.
You show interest when you take time to interact with other users, checking their blogs and following to those who post information you like and need to learn. It is also important to "vote" on those comments that contribute information to your article, this will make them return to your blog because they have received something that they have given you first. Nothing costs you! "Give of grace what by grace you received"

4. And last, and not least, BE PATIENT AND PERSISTENT.
The constancy and dedication to do things, will bear fruit at the appointed time. Not before, but not after. Heed the suggestions made by other users and dedicate yourself to becoming better every day, to help those who come following in our footsteps.

CONSTANCE IS NOT IN BEGINNING BUT PERSEVERING. (Leonardo da Vinci)

Thanks for sharing, I never had such a big payout for curating, but like you say there is a chance that it can happen
